Design: Semistructured interviews with cancer survivors participating in a randomized controlled trial comparing the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and acupuncture for the treatment of insomnia. Interviews were conducted before randomization into either treatment option, and structured to elicit participants' experiences with insomnia as well as their beliefs and understanding surrounding acupuncture for the treatment of insomnia.

Objective: The purpose of this article is to classify complaints from patients undergoing image-guided interventions using a coding taxonomy and to test whether single-coded complaints were resolved satisfactorily compared with multifactorial (multiple codes) complaints.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, patients' complaint narratives between April 1999 and December 2012 were reviewed and categorized according to a three-level taxonomy into domains and codes. Resolutions were categorized as satisfactory or unsatisfactory to the patient and were classified as follows: clarification, apology, manager notification, change of provider, reimbursement, and quality review.

From 1861 to 1962, clinicopathologic research tried to explain the association of abnormal uterine bleeding with uterine enlargement. The etiology was theorized as metropathy, suggesting that myometrial dysfunction may predispose to abnormal uterine bleeding. Research reached a nadir in 1962, when a major review dismissed myometrial hypertrophy as a plausible explanation after prior rejections of the theories of chronic myometritis, fibrosis uteri, and subinvolution as causes of bleeding.

Massive perivillous fibrinoid deposition (MFD) and maternal floor infarction (MFI) are lesions of unknown etiology associated with poor perinatal outcomes, including fetal intrauterine growth restriction and neurodevelopmental injury, high risks of pregnancy loss, and recurrence in subsequent gestations. MFI comprises massive intervillous fibrinoid deposition concentrated at the maternal floor. MFD is a similar lesion but is diffuse within the parenchyma.
