Primitive myxoid mesenchymal tumor of infancy (PMMTI) is a rare mesenchymal tumor of early childhood characterized by aggressive local infiltration of surrounding structures, rare metastases, and poor response to chemotherapy. Surgery alone appears to be the most effective treatment given the lack of predilection for metastasis and poor response to traditional chemotherapy. Below we report a patient with PMMTI successfully managed with surgery and observation and summarize the existing literature on histopathologic features and treatment of this lesion.

We used magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to evaluate the effects of boxing on brain structure and cognition in 10 boxers (8 retired, 2 active; mean age = 45.7 years; standard deviation [SD] = 9.71) and 9 participants (mean age = 43.

Introduction: A clearer understanding of the factors affecting the cure rate of Helicobacter pylori infection might lead to the development of novel prevention strategies and therapeutic targets.
Areas Covered: This review covers two important issues that affect the eradication of H. pylori: bacterial and host factors.

Background: The aim of this analysis was to examine the effects of icosapent ethyl (eicosapentaenoic acid ethyl ester, IPE) on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) and lipid parameters in patients with metabolic syndrome, with and without stable statin therapy.
Methods: This post hoc exploratory analysis evaluated patients with metabolic syndrome treated with IPE 4 grams/day, IPE 2 grams/day, or placebo in phase 3, randomized, placebo-controlled studies entitled: MARINE [triglyceride (TG) levels ≥500 and ≤2000 mg/dL] and ANCHOR [TG levels ≥200 and <500 mg/dL, despite low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) control with stable statin therapy].
Results: Compared with placebo in patients with metabolic syndrome in MARINE (n=204) and ANCHOR (n=645), at the approved dose of 4 grams/day, IPE significantly lowered hsCRP levels 40.

Objective: The study goal was to determine the efficacy and safety of an optimal dose of Evekeo, racemic amphetamine sulfate, 1:1 d-amphetamine and l-amphetamine (R-AMPH), compared to placebo in treating children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in a laboratory classroom setting.
Methods: A total of 107 children ages 6-12 years were enrolled in this multicenter, dose-optimized, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover study. After 8 weeks of open-label dose optimization, 97 subjects were randomized to 2 weeks of double-blind treatment in the sequence of R-AMPH followed by placebo (n=47) or placebo followed by R-AMPH (n=50).

Previous studies have reported that chromosome synteny in Lepidoptera has been well conserved, yet the number of haploid chromosomes varies widely from 5 to 223. Here we report the genome (393 Mb) of the Glanville fritillary butterfly (Melitaea cinxia; Nymphalidae), a widely recognized model species in metapopulation biology and eco-evolutionary research, which has the putative ancestral karyotype of n=31. Using a phylogenetic analyses of Nymphalidae and of other Lepidoptera, combined with orthologue-level comparisons of chromosomes, we conclude that the ancestral lepidopteran karyotype has been n=31 for at least 140 My.
