School nurses play a key role in supporting student mental health, and many school nurses report the need for additional mental health education. The Mental Health Training Intervention for Health Providers in Schools (MH-TIPS) is a training and implementation support system for school nurses to enhance their skills in promoting student mental health. The current study evaluated the feasibility of the MH-TIPS online curriculum for school nurses, and its impact on their preparedness and ability to support student mental health.

OBJECTIVE To determine which comorbid conditions are considered causally related to central-line associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) and surgical-site infection (SSI) based on expert consensus. DESIGN Using the Delphi method, we administered an iterative, 2-round survey to 9 infectious disease and infection control experts from the United States. METHODS Based on our selection of components from the Charlson and Elixhauser comorbidity indices, 35 different comorbid conditions were rated from 1 (not at all related) to 5 (strongly related) by each expert separately for CLABSI and SSI, based on perceived relatedness to the outcome.

For 30 years, the Advanced Trauma Life Support course of the American College of Surgeons taught that coagulopathy was a late consequence of resuscitation of injury. The recognition of trauma-induced coagulopathy overturns that medical myth and creates a rationale for procoagulant resuscitation. Analysis of the composition of currently available blood components allows prediction of the upper limits of achievable coagulation activity, keeping in mind that oxygen transport must be maintained simultaneously.

We report a modification on open components separation that allows for the incorporation of onlaid noncrosslinked porcine acellular dermal matrix (Strattice, LifeCell Corp, Branchburg, NJ) as a load-sharing structure.
Methods: This was a retrospective case series including all cases using Strattice from July 2008 through December 2009.

Background: Recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) are crucial to inform developing country decisions to use, or not, a new intervention. This article analysed the WHO policy development process to predict its course for a malaria vaccine.
Methods: The decision-making processes for one malaria intervention and four vaccines were classified through (1) consultations with staff and expert advisors to WHO's Global Malaria Programme (GMP) and Immunization, Vaccines and Biologicals Department (IVB); (2) analysis of the procedures and recommendations of the major policy-making bodies of these groups; (3) interviews with staff of partnerships working toward new vaccine availability; and (4) review and analyses of evidence informing key policy decisions.
