With the development of deep learning, more convolutional neural networks (CNNs) are being introduced in automatic segmentation to reduce oncologists' labor requirement. However, it is still challenging for oncologists to spend considerable time evaluating the quality of the contours generated by the CNNs. Besides, all the evaluation criteria, such as Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC), need a gold standard to assess the quality of the contours.

Somatic and psychological distress among Russian university students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective: Previous studies highlighted a high prevalence of mental health issues among students during the COVID-19 pandemic, but there is no evidence from Russia. This study was aimed to examine the prevalence of somatic and psychological distress among Russian university students.

Method: The cross-sectional study was conducted in March-April 2021.

Cone Beam CT (CBCT) Based Synthetic CT Generation Using Deep Learning Methods for Dose Calculation of Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Radiotherapy.

To generate synthetic CT (sCT) images with high quality from CBCT and planning CT (pCT) for dose calculation by using deep learning methods. 169 NPC patients with a total of 20926 slices of CBCT and pCT images were included. In this study the CycleGAN, Pix2pix and U-Net models were used to generate the sCT images.

Bergamottin alleviates LPS-induced acute lung injury by inducing SIRT1 and suppressing NF-κB.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is associated with a high mortality due to inflammatory cell infiltration and lung edema. The development of ALI commonly involves the activation of NF-κB. Since bergamottin is a natural furanocoumarin showing the ability to inhibit the activation of NF-κB, in this study we aimed to determine the effect of bergamottin on ALI.

Efficacy and Safety of Subcutaneous Immunotherapy for Local Allergic Rhinitis: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.

Background: Subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) has been used for treating local allergic rhinitis (LAR) patients. However, the clinical efficacy and safety were still questioned.

Objective: This study was designed to estimate the efficacy and safety of SCIT for treating LAR patients through meta-analysis.

Traditional versus mirror three-dimensional printing technology for isolated acetabular fractures: a retrospective study with a median follow-up of 25 months.

Objective: To assess the outcomes of traditional three-dimensional (3D) printing technology (TPT) versus mirror 3D printing technology (MTT) in treating isolated acetabular fractures (IAFs).

Methods: Consecutive patients with an IAF treated by either TPT or MTT at our tertiary medical centre from 2012 to 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Follow-up was performed 1, 3, 6, and 12 months postoperatively and annually thereafter.

Objectives: This retrospective study aimed to investigate and analyze the clinical significance of blood platelets (PLTs) and mean platelet volume (MPV) in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC).

Methods: A total of 132 patients with UC and 208 healthy subjects were enrolled. PLTs, MPV, platelet-large cell rate (P-LCR), C-reactive protein (CRP), fibrinogen (FIB) and D-dimer were analyzed.

The Efficacy of First-Generation EGFR-TKI Combined With Brain Radiotherapy as the First-Line Treatment for Lung Adenocarcinoma Patients With Brain Metastases and EGFR Sensitive Mutations: A Retrospective study.

Background: It was controversial that whether LUAD patients with brain metastases (BMs) and EGFR sensitive mutations should be conducted using brain radiotherapy when treated with first-generation EGFR-TKI. Herein, a retrospective study was designed to compare the efficacy of first-generation EGFR-TKI combined with brain radiotherapy and EGFR-TKI alone as first-line treatment for these LUAD patients.

Patients And Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the status of patients with advanced LUAD carrying EGFR sensitive mutations who received first-generation EGFR-TKI treatment in our center.

Occlusion of the Lateral Semicircular Canal Through the External Ear Canal: A Case Report.

This case report introduces a novel surgical procedure to occlude the lateral semicircular canal through the external auditory canal. The patient was a 64-year-old male with Ménière's disease who had suffered from left ear vertigo accompanied by tinnitus for more than 4 years. He also suffered from paroxysmal vertigo, fluctuating hearing loss, tinnitus symptoms, and ear distension and tightness.

The Anticoagulant Therapy for Otogenic Sigmoid Sinus Thrombophlebitis: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Sigmoid sinus thrombophlebitis is a severe and potentially fatal intracranial complication of acute otitis media and middle ear cholesteatoma. Early administration of broad-spectrum antibiotics and immediate radical mastoidectomy are the recommended standard treatments; however anticoagulant therapy is always an option worthy of clinical consideration. Here, we report a case of middle ear cholesteatoma complicated with sigmoid sinus thrombophlebitis in a patient who received anticoagulant therapy for 1 year before the operation because of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.

Aural Myiasis: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Myiasis is a type of parasitosis caused by the larvae of diptera. It commonly occurs in tropical and subtropical zones. The infestation of nose and ears can be extremely dangerous if the larvae destroy the bone and penetrate into the brain, in which case the fatality rate is reported to be as high as 8%.
