Sarcomas in cytology fluids are uncommon, accounting for an estimated 3-6% of malignant effusions. High-grade endometrial stromal sarcomas are uncommon malignancies, whose true frequency is not well defined. We present a case of high-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma with a translocation metastatic to the pleural fluid.

Although reported in almost all anatomic locations, only 7 cases of intraneural nodular fasciitis have been reported in English literature. The gene fusion has not been previously reported in intraneural nodular fasciitis, although it has been reported in three entities including aneurysmal bone cyst, nodular fasciitis, and intravascular fasciitis.

This is a case report of a child with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) complicated by an acute ischemic stroke with right M1 occlusion and large penumbra who underwent thrombectomy with TICI 3 recanalization. There were no complications and the patient had improvement in the pediatric NIHSS from 16 to 3 in the subsequent days. This is the first known report of successful mechanical thrombectomy performed in a pediatric patient with MIS-C associated with COVID-19.

Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare low-grade malignant vascular tumor with indolent biology, characterized by reciprocal t(1;3)(p36.6;q25) with resultant gene fusion in the vast majority of cases, regardless of anatomic location. Only a small subset, exhibiting well formed vasoformative features will contain gene fusion.

Introduction: There is a growing concern that certain public health restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) could result in more violence against women (VAW). We sought to determine if the rates and types of VAW changed during the COVID-19 pandemic at our level 1 trauma center (L1TC).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of female patients who presented to our L1TC because of violence from 2019 through 2020.
Background: Central venous catheters (CVC) are generally recommended for norepinephrine administration due to risk of tissue ischemia. Early resuscitation, leading to decreased infusion duration, may minimize the need for CVCs if norepinephrine can be administered safely through a peripheral intravenous catheter (PIV).
Objective: A protocol was developed for peripheral administration.

The objective of our study was to assess the relationship between postoperative opioid prescribing patterns and opioid consumption among patients who underwent septoplasty or rhinoplasty. A chart review of patients who underwent either septoplasty or rhinoplasty by 3 surgeons between July 2016 and June 2017 was performed, and pertinent clinical data were collected including the amount of narcotic pain medications prescribed. A telephone interview was then conducted to assess opioid usage and pain control regimen postoperatively.
