Background: Sexualized drug use (SDU) has become a public health concern in recent years. This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of SDU in gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men living with HIV (HIV + GBMSM) in Madrid during 2019/2020 and compare it with data from 2016/2017 in order to detect changes in patterns.

Methods: We analyzed the frequency of SDU in a sample of HIV + GBMSM attending HIV clinics, who participated in an anonymous online survey regarding sexual behavior and recreational drug use.

Real-world safety and effectiveness of dapagliflozin in people living with type 1 diabetes in Spain: The Dapa-ON multicenter retrospective study.

Objective: To assess real-world safety and effectiveness of dapagliflozin in people living with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM).

Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective study in Spain including data from 250 people living with T1DM receiving dapagliflozin as add-on therapy to insulin (80.8 % on-label use).

Paradoxical interatrial conduction recovery after cavotricuspid isthmus ablation: A case report.

We present a case of a patient with advanced interatrial block who was admitted for cavotricuspid isthmus ablation as treatment of typical atrial flutter. A baseline advanced interatrial block pattern turned into partial interatrial block pattern and prolonged PR interval after the procedure. We discuss the mechanism underlying that change.

Introduction: Globally, depression is the most common psychiatric disorder and is frequently associated with somatic symptom disorders, including pain as a physical symptom. There is a current need to improve the detection and management of the individuals in which depression and pain coexist. Hence, the aim of this document is to provide recommendations in the diagnosis and management of patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) who have pain as a physical symptom (PPS), in order to reduce the variability of clinical practice.

Distal hereditary motor neuronopathy as a new phenotype associated with variants in BAG3.

Objective: To describe a new phenotype associated with a novel variant in BAG3: autosomal dominant adult-onset distal hereditary motor neuronopathy.

Methods: This study enrolled eight affected individuals from a single family and included a comprehensive evaluation of the clinical phenotype, neurophysiologic testing, muscle MRI, muscle biopsy and western blot of BAG3 protein in skeletal muscle. Genetic workup included whole exome sequencing and segregation analysis of the detected variant in BAG3.

Advanced Lipoproteins and Lipidomic Profile in Plasma Determined by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Before and After Bariatric Surgery.

Background: Obesity is related to cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF) such as dyslipidemia, diabetes, and hypertension, which increase mortality. Basic lipid determinations could underestimate the true atherogenic risk of patients and the impact of bariatric surgery. The objective of the study is to demonstrate the change in the advanced molecular profile of lipoproteins determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in plasma after bariatric surgery, thus reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease.

The objective of this study is to describe what methods hospital internal medicine physicians in Spain use to resolve their ethical doubts and which they consider most useful.

A New Set of in Silico Tools to Support the Interpretation of ATM Missense Variants Using Graphical Analysis.

Establishing the pathogenic nature of variants in ATM, a gene associated with breast cancer and other hereditary cancers, is crucial for providing patients with adequate care. Unfortunately, achieving good variant classification is still difficult. To address this challenge, we extended the range of in silico tools with a series of graphical tools devised for the analysis of computational evidence by health care professionals.

Heterogeneity and treatment landscape of ovarian carcinoma.

Ovarian carcinoma is characterized by heterogeneity at the molecular, cellular and anatomical levels, both spatially and temporally. This heterogeneity affects response to surgery and/or systemic therapy, and also facilitates inherent and acquired drug resistance. As a consequence, this tumour type is often aggressive and frequently lethal.

Risk factors of massive blood transfusion in liver transplantation: consequences and a new index for prediction including the donor.

Background: Massive blood transfusion (MBT) is a common occurrence in liver transplant (LT) patients. Recipient-related risk factors include cirrhosis, history of multiple surgeries and suboptimal donors. Despite advances in surgical techniques, anesthetic management and graft preservation have decreased the need for transfusions, this complication has not been completely eliminated.

Post-transplant biliary complications using liver grafts from deceased donors older than 70 years: Retrospective case-control study.

Methods: Retrospective study of a prospective database of hip fracture patients ⩾75 years old between 1 January 2017 and 30 September 2019. Patient characteristics, type of fracture and osteoprotective medication were collected at the Emergency Department.
