Central nervous system (CNS) diseases, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and demyelinating diseases, are generally characterized by high morbidity and mortality, which impose a heavy economic burden on patients and their caregivers throughout their lives as well as on public health. The occurrence and development of CNS diseases are closely associated with a series of pathophysiological changes including inflammation, blood-brain barrier disruption, and abnormal coagulation. Endothelial glycocalyx (EG) plays a key role in these changes, making it a novel intervention target for CNS diseases.

Background: Lysine methyltransferase 2 (KMT2) family proteins methylate lysine 4 on histone H3 (H3K4) to promote genome accessibility and transcription. Dysregulation or mutation of KMT2 family have been observed frequently in various types of human cancers. Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer worldwide.

We have reviewed a large number of relevant literature to determine the deficiencies of orthopedics in the diagnosis and prevention of venous thromboembolism(VTE)events during the perioperative period, and found that the TEG technology has been widely used after liver transplantation, which may make up for the deficiencies. This review expounds the detection principle and latest thromboelastography (TEG) development, and highlights the advantages of TEG over previous screening methods in diagnosing hypercoagulability. By analyzing the correlation and consistency between TEG and conventional coagulation test, reliable indexes for diagnosing hypercoagulability and important parameters for guiding perioperative anticoagulation treatment were summarized.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most commonly diagnosed malignancy worldwide. Overexpressed of microRNA-21-5p (miR-21-5p) has been reported to be involved in the development of HNSCC. However, the role of miR-21-5p in HNSCC is still not fully elucidated.

Background: Three-dimensional (3D) multi-echo-Dixon (ME-Dixon) and breath-hold T2-corrected multi-echo single-voxel MR spectroscopy (HISTO) can simultaneously quantify liver fat and liver iron. However, their diagnostic efficacy and application scope for quantitative iron in co-existing fatty liver have not been adequately evaluated.
Purpose: To evaluate the accuracy of ME-Dixon and HISTO for quantitative analysis of hepatic iron in rabbits with iron deposition and fatty liver using liver-iron concentration (LIC) as a reference standard.

Objective: The objective is to investigate whether percutaneous access (pEVAR) is superior to cutdown access (cEVAR) in terms of safety and efficacy during endovascular repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs).
Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library from January 1999 to December 2020 for studies reporting on the comparison between percutaneous and cutdown techniques for endovascular repair of AAAs. Outcomes evaluated were technical success rates, access site-related complications and operative time, and hospital stay.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is the sixth most prevalent malignancy worldwide, with high incidence and poor survival rates. Increased expression of microRNA-205-5p (miR-205-5p) may influence the outcomes of HNSCC, but the identities of miR-205-5p target genes and the potential signaling pathways related to HNSCC remain unclear. RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression levels of miR-205-5p in the plasma of patients with HNSCC.
