Novel SN38 derivative-based liposome as anticancer prodrug: an in vitro and in vivo study.

Background: Many novel drug delivery systems have been extensively studied to exploit the full therapeutic potential of SN38, which is one of the most potent antitumor analogs of camptothecins (CPTs), whose clinical application is seriously hindered by poor water solubility, low plasmatic stability, and severe toxicity, but results are always unsatisfactory.

Methods: In this study, combining the advantages of prodrug and nanotechnology, a lipophilic prodrug of SN38, SN38-PA, was developed by conjugating palmitic acid to SN38 via ester bond at C position, and then the lipophilic prodrug was encapsulated into a long-circulating liposomal carrier by film dispersion method.

Protective Effect of Curcumin Against Oxidative Stress-Induced Injury in Rats with Parkinson's Disease Through the Wnt/ β-Catenin Signaling Pathway.

Background/aims: The study aimed to investigate the protective effect of curcumin against oxidative stress-induced injury of Parkinson's disease (PD) through the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway in rats.

Methods: The successfully established PD rat models and normal healthy rats were randomly assigned into the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA), the curcumin (Cur) and the control groups. Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the positive expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), dopamine transporter (DAT) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP).

Familial congenital cyanosis caused by Hb-M(Yantai)(α-76 GAC → TAC, Asp → Tyr).

Methemoglobin (Hb-M) is a rare hemoglobinopathy in China. We hereby report on a family living in Yantai, East China, with congenital cyanosis due to Hb-M mutation. The proband, a 65-year-old female, presented 63% oxygen saturation.

[Observation on effect of pifubing xuedu pill combined with diyin tablet in treatment of psoriasis].

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of Pifubing Xuedu Pill (PXDP) combined with Diyin Tablet (DYT) in treating patients with psoriasis.

Methods: Sixty patients were divided into 2 groups by randomized controlled method. DYT was orally taken by all patients, while XDP was given additionally to patients in the treated group, the medication was continued for 1 month.

Objective: To investigate the feasibility and clinical effect of the extended reverse digital artery island flap including dorsal digital nerve.

Methods: Since 2001, 7 cases of pulp and digital palm defects were repaired by the extended reverse digital artery island flap including dorsal digital nerve.
