Functional connectivity in resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) has received substantial attention since the initial findings of Biswal et al. Traditional network correlation metrics assume that the functional connectivity in the brain remains stationary over time. However, recent studies have shown that robust temporal fluctuations of functional connectivity among as well as within functional networks exist, challenging this assumption.

No research drawing from Self-Determination Theory has investigated the bereavement experience of individuals or how motivation can help facilitate posttraumatic growth (PTG) following the death of a loved one. In two cross-sectional studies, university students completed an online survey. Study 1 investigated the contribution of global autonomous and controlled motivation in statistically predicting PTG above and beyond previously researched correlates.

The association between isotretinoin and atypical wound healing remains controversial. It is common practice to delay elective procedures for 6 to 24 months after oral isotretinoin therapy. The studies supporting common practices (SCP) recommend extending this period to include the 6 to 24 months preceding treatment.

Promoting the health of women requires an understanding of the full range of factors shaping their health, including globalization. Focusing on South Asia, I outline some of the critical global women's health issues that warrant further attention by health promotion researchers. I discuss the inadequacy of international approaches for improving the health of South Asian women, occupational health hazards associated with global industries targeting women, new forms of gender based violence, gendered ethical challenges arising as global and local forces collide and the rise of transnational feminist networks that can be harnessed for advancing women's health across the region.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the association of persistently elevated antiphospholipid antibodies and lower extremity peripheral arterial disease.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review of electronic databases including MEDLINE, EUROPUBMED and EMBASE to assess the prevalence of antiphospholipid antibodies in patients with lower extremity peripheral arterial disease.
Background: The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of direct oral factor Xa inhibitors for preventing non-central nervous systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
Methods: We conducted a systematic review of the following databases: Ovid MEDLINE, EUROPUBMED, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, from July 1st 1990 to April 1st, 2015. Randomised controlled trials were included if they reported the outcomes of patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation treated with a direct oral factor Xa inhibitors compared to a vitamin K antagonist.

Objectives: This study evaluated the feasibility and initial efficacy of a 12-week group mindfulness-based intervention tailored for persons with social anxiety disorder (MBI-SAD). The intervention includes elements of the standard mindfulness-based stress reduction program, explicit training in self-compassion aimed at cultivating a more accepting and kinder stance toward oneself, and use of exposure procedures to help participants practice responding mindfully to internal experiences evoked by feared social situations.
Methods: Participants were randomly assigned to the MBI-SAD (n = 21) or a waitlist (WL) (n = 18) control group.

The HECT E3 ubiquitin ligase HACE1 is a tumour suppressor known to regulate Rac1 activity under stress conditions. HACE1 is increased in the serum of patients with heart failure. Here we show that HACE1 protects the heart under pressure stress by controlling protein degradation.
