Bone Sarcoma With Fusion: Sarcoma With Varied Morphology and Amplification of Fusion Gene Distinct From Ewing Sarcoma.

Ewing sarcomas are typified by fusion to gene family members. Tumors with fusion partners other than family members and atypical histologic features pose significant diagnostic challenges and controversies as to their classification. In this article, we report a tumor with fusion in the left femur of a 43-year-old man and with unusual morphologic features that resemble undifferentiated high-grade sarcoma.

Combination Lenalidomide and Azacitidine: A Novel Salvage Therapy in Patients Who Relapse After Allogeneic Stem-Cell Transplantation for Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Purpose: Salvage options for patients who relapse after allogeneic stem-cell transplantation (allo-SCT) for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplasia (MDS) remain limited, and novel treatment strategies are required. Both lenalidomide (LEN) and azacitidine (AZA) possess significant antitumor activity effect in AML. Administration of LEN post-transplantation is associated with excessive rates of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), but AZA has been shown to ameliorate GVHD in murine transplantation models.

Epstein-Barr Virus-Associated Nodal Marginal Zone Lymphoma: Part of the Spectrum of Posttransplant Lymphoproliferative Disorder?

A 56-year-old man, who received deceased kidney transplant 20 years ago, presented with an enlarged submandibular lymph node. Histologic examination revealed nodal marginal zone lymphoma in which the neoplastic lymphoid cells showed diffuse positivity for Epstein-Barr virus early RNA by in situ hybridization. Systemic lymphoma workup showed stage I disease.

Surgical Outcome Analysis of Pneumovesicoscopic Ureteral Reimplantation and Endoscopic Dextranomer/Hyaluronic Acid Injection for Primary Vesicoureteral Reflux in Children: A Multicenter 12-Year Review.

Objective: Vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) is a common condition associated with childhood urinary tract infection (UTI), which may lead to chronic renal failure and hypertension. Different antireflux approaches were advocated with differences in morbidity and success. The aim of this study is to review and analyze the surgical outcomes of pneumovesicoscopic ureteral reimplantation and endoscopic injection of dextranomer/hyaluronic acid (Dx/HA) in three tertiary centers.

The spectrum of neuropsychiatric lupus in a Black Caribbean population: a report of the Barbados National Lupus Registry.

Objective The objective of this study was to examine neuropsychiatric lupus in a Black Caribbean population. Methods We reviewed Barbados National Lupus Registry patients with ≥4 American College of Rheumatology criteria and a diagnosis of neuropsychiatric lupus using the American College of Rheumatology 19 case definitions. Results From 366 patients with four or more American College of Rheumatology criteria for systemic lupus erythematosus, 55 (15%) had evidence of neuropsychiatric lupus.

Understanding the experiences of fathers of children with congenital heart disease: An interpretative phenomenological analysis.

Little is known about the experiences of fathers of children with congenital heart disease. Using interpretative phenomenological analysis, the lived experiences of six fathers were explored. Two master themes emerged: 'relinquishing and reclaiming control' and 'living in the shadow of illness'.
