As the opioid crisis escalates across North America, photographers are highlighting the gravity of the situation. However, many of their images of people who use drugs are problematic and stigmatizing. This study looks at how digital storytelling (DST) was used in order to assist long-term heroin users taking part in North America's first heroin-assisted treatment program in Vancouver, BC, in amplifying and sharing their personal experiences.

In contrast, individuals with autism spectrum disorder actively seek out the company of others who share their diagnosis. It is not clear, however, whether individuals with autism spectrum disorder form more positive first impressions of autistic peers when diagnosis is not explicitly shared.

Years of research on message design and effects provides insight regarding the most persuasive message appeals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the content of the messages being presented in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Tips from Former Smokers campaign. A content analysis of persuasive message design features was conducted to critically examine campaign content.
