Real-Time Detection of IoT Anomalies and Intrusion Data in Smart Cities Using Multi-Agent System.

Analyzing IoT data is an important challenge in the smart cities domain due to the complexity of network traffic generated by a large number of interconnected devices: smart cameras, light bulbs, motion sensors, voice assistants, and so on. To overcome this issue, a multi-agent system is proposed to deal with all machine learning steps, from preprocessing and labeling data to discovering the most suitable model for the analyzed dataset. This paper shows that dividing the work into different tasks, managed by specialized agents, and evaluating the discovered models by an Expert System Agent leads to better results in the learning process.

Inhibitory Effects and Composition Analysis of Romanian Propolis: Applications in Organic and Sustainable Agriculture.

Propolis is a sustainable and environmentally friendly agrochemical of natural origin, a resinous mixture produced by honeybees. It is used as a natural remedy in multiple pathologies., but it is also a natural defense enhancer, a phytostimulator that helps to bind, bloom, and pollinate plants.

The impact of healthcare system quality and economic factors on the older adult population: a health economics perspective.

Purpose: This study investigates the influence of economic conditions, healthcare system capacity, and health-related variables on the proportion of the older adult population (Population ages 65 and above) in European Union countries. It aims to identify how factors such as GDP, unemployment, inflation, healthcare expenditure, hospital bed availability, and the prevalence of chronic diseases impact the aging demographic.

Methods: This study explores the dynamic interactions and temporal relationships between economic stability, healthcare capacity, chronic disease prevalence, and demographic aging patterns.

Antimicrobial Activity of Honey and Propolis from Alba County, Romania.

Investigating the quality of bee products obtained across different geographical regions and analyzing their antimicrobial activity is of significant interest to various scientific disciplines. This study focuses on comparing the antimicrobial activity of honey and propolis samples from different areas of Alba County, Romania. The quality parameters of five samples of two types of bee products (honey and propolis) were assessed.

Cremation in Interwar Romania: The Case of the Potter's Field.

This article aims to analyse the activities of Potter's Field practice in Romania as part of the Patriarch Miron Orthodox Association. From its very beginning it was orientated against the apparition of cremation in Romania, realized in the first cremation at the Cenușa Crematorium in Bucharest (1928). The target was to 'save' poor people from cremation, considering that the cremation aimed to remove from the local authorities the pressure of supporting the costs of burials for unidentified bodies and bodies that were unclaimed by families ('the social cremations').

Objectives: This study delves into the cutting-edge field of deep learning techniques, particularly deep convolutional neural networks (DCNNs), which have demonstrated unprecedented potential in assisting radiologists and orthopedic surgeons in precisely identifying meniscal tears. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of deep learning models in recognizing, localizing, describing, and categorizing meniscal tears in magnetic resonance images (MRIs).

Materials And Methods: This systematic review was rigorously conducted, strictly following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.

Lead and copper removal from sterile dumps by phytoremediation with Robinia pseudoacacia.

In Romania, huge quantities of gangue material from the mining activity practiced in the past were improperly stored and led to the pollution of the environment. Thus, this work is framed to manage the sterile dump of the "Radeș" mine (Alba, Romania) through a 12-week phytoremediation process. The efficient use of Robinia pseudoacacia was studied through the implementation, at the laboratory level, of a phytoremediation experiment based on various variants prepared by mixtures of gangue material, uncontaminated soil, and dehydrated sludge.

The Precursors Used for Developing Geopolymer Composites for Circular Economy-A Review.

Considering recent climate changes, special importance is given to any attempt to depollute and protect the environment. A circular economy seems to be the ideal solution for the valorization of mineral waste, resulting from various industrial branches, by reintroducing them in the process of obtaining alternative building materials, more friendly to the environment. Geopolymers can be considered as a promising option compared to Portland cement.

Food insecurity among consumers from rural areas in Romania.

Food security has a special relevance in nowadays economies, due to the current crisis, characterized by multiple layers on a social, political, economic, and individual biological level. The present study aims to identify relevant aspects of food insecurity for consumers in rural Romania and the main factors that significantly influence it (food availability, food access, and food consumption). The data were collected from a sample of 875 consumers from rural areas in Romania.

The Effects of Listening to Music on Postural Balance in Middle-Aged Women.

Listening to music has been found to influence postural balance in both healthy participants and certain patients, whereas no study investigates such effects among healthy middle-aged women. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the effect of music on postural balance in middle-aged women. Twenty-six healthy women aged between 50 and 55 years participated in this study.

Applications of Romanian Propolis in Phyto-Inhibitory Activity and Antimicrobial Protection: A Comparative Study.

Propolis use in medicine, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries is well known. This study aimed to investigate propolis' phyto-inhibitory and antimicrobial potential. Nine propolis samples obtained from distinct Romanian regions and characterized in terms of physical-chemical parameters, phenols and flavonoid contents, and antioxidant properties were prepared as dry propolis and aqueous extracts.

Influence of Aspect Ratio on the Flexural and Buckling Behavior of an Aluminium Sandwich Composite: A Numerical and Experimental Approach.

In the field of engineering materials, lightweight and ultra-lightweight composites are used in real time to a greater extent, with high-performance targeting for tailor-made systems in aerospace, automotive, and biomedical applications. Sandwich composites are among the most popular lightweight materials used in structural and vehicle-building applications. In the present investigation, one such sandwich composite laminate composed of aluminum face sheets and a high-density polyethylene core was considered to analyze sandwich composites' flexural and buckling behavior experimentally and numerically.

An IoT System Proposed for Higher Education: Approaches and Challenges in Economics, Computational Linguistics, and Engineering.

The technological revolution and the evolution of technology have significantly facilitated the applicability of the IoT in various domains, such as healthcare, transportation, agriculture, retail, education, and, especially, higher education, which encompasses countless areas. Petri nets can be a useful tool to model the behavior of an IoT system. The main objective of this paper was to propose, model, and analyze a complex IoT system for higher education.

Development and Characterization of Polylactic Acid (PLA)-Based Nanocomposites Used for Food Packaging.

The present study is focused on polylactic acid (PLA) blending with bio nanoadditives, such as Tonsil (clay) and Aerosil, to obtain nanocomposites for a new generation of food packaging. The basic composition was enhanced using Sorbitan oleate (E494) and Proviplast as plasticizers, increasing the composite samples' stability and their mechanical strength. Four mixtures were prepared: S1 with Tonsil; S2 with Aerosil; S3 with Aerosil + Proviplast; and S4 with Sabosorb.

Phyto-Inhibitory and Antimicrobial Activity of Brown Propolis from Romania.

The objective of this paper was to study the phyto-inhibitory and antimicrobial activity of brown propolis collected from the counties of four regions in Romania. The main physico-chemical and functional properties of 16 samples of propolis from different landforms of geographical regions were determined. Their antimicrobial activities were established against 5 bacterial strains (, , , , and ) and 5 fungal strains (, , , , and ).

Empirical investigation on how wellbeing-related infrastructure shapes economic growth: Evidence from the European Union regions.

One of the most important policies of the European Union is regional development, which comprises measures of enhancing economic growth and citizens' living standards via strategic investment. Considering that economic growth and wellbeing are intertwined from the perspective of EU policies, this study examines the relationship between wellbeing-related infrastructure and economic growth in 212 NUTS 2 regional subdivisions across the members of Eu-28 during the period 2001-2020. We therefore analyzed data from 151 Western Europe regions and 61 Central and Eastern Europe regions by means of a panel data analysis with the first-difference generalized method of moments estimator.

In recent times, particularly in applications used to build various structures for construction purposes or machines, solid sections have been gradually replaced by hollow sections due to their attractive features such as being light weight and having high specific strength. In the present investigation, an attempt was made to investigate, in detail, the flexural capability of aluminium hollow tubes (AHTs) with square cross-sections. The objective of the investigation was to study the influence of stress concentration on the flexural behaviour of the hollow tube.

Qualitative Characterization and Antifungal Activity of Romanian Honey and Propolis.

The purpose of this study was to review the physicochemical characterization of Romanian honey and propolis and their antifungal effect on different strains. As an indicator of environmental pollution, lead exceeded the allowed limits in two study areas. The relationship between the acidity and electrical conductivity of polyfloral honey and the antioxidant activity with the total content of phenolics and flavonoids was investigated.
