Nipah virus, a zoonotic virus from the family Paramyxoviridae has led to significant loss of lives till date with the most recent outbreak in India reported in Kerala. Caveolin-1 (Cav-1) is a structural protein of caveolae that functions as a molecular organizer for different cellular functions including endocytosis and cellular signaling. Cancer cells take advantage of the physical position of Cav-1, as it can communicate with extracellular matrix, help to organize growth factor receptors, redistribute cholesterol and glycosphingolipids, and finally transduce signals within the cells for oncogenesis. Azomethine ylides are typically in situ generated synthons for making N-heterocycles through cycloaddition reactions. But an offbeat aspect about them is the isomeric nature of aldiminium-based azomethine ylides and (alkyl/aryl)(amino)carbenes, interconvertible by a formal 1,3-H transfer. Herein, two thermally robust azomethine ylides with a N-appended picolyl sidearm are isolated, which cyclize to aziridines at 80 °C but unprecedentedly result CAAC-CuCl (CAAC=cyclic(alkyl)(amino)carbene) complexes when heated with CuCl at merely 60 °C.

Insulin Receptor Substrate (IRS), an intracellular molecule devoid of an intrinsic kinase activity, is activated upon binding to IR which thereby works as a scaffold, organizing all signaling complexes and initiating the signaling process downstream. The level of IRS proteins and their stability in the cell is mostly maintained through the phosphorylation status of their tyrosine and serine residues. IRS is positively regulated by phosphorylation of its Tyr residues whereas a Ser residue phosphorylation attenuates it, although there exist some exceptions as well.

Herein, we investigated whether L-ascorbic acid (L-AA) and α-tocopherol (α-T) co-administration has the potential to alleviate arsenic-induced immunotoxicities in the thymus, spleen, and circulating leukocytes. Forty-eight adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups before the treatment: group I (control); group II (sodium arsenite, 3 mg/kg/day/rat); group III (sodium arsenite + L-AA (200 mg/kg/day/rat) and α-T (400 mg/kg/day/rat)); group IV (L-AA and α-T). The result showed that sodium arsenite exposure (consecutive 30 days) caused weight reduction, structural alterations in the thymus and spleen, accompanied by a decrease in thymocyte and splenocyte count.

In the present paper, we investigate the effects of disorder on the reversal time (τ) of classical anisotropic Heisenberg ferromagnets in three dimensions by means of Monte Carlo simulations. Starting from the pure system, our analysis suggests that τ increases with increasing anisotropy strength. On the other hand, for the case of randomly distributed anisotropy, generated from various statistical distributions, a set of results is obtained: (i) For both bimodal and uniform distributions, the variation of τ with the strength of anisotropy strongly depends on temperature.

A time series is an extremely abundant data type arising in many areas of scientific research, including the biological sciences. Any method that compares time series data relies on a pairwise distance between trajectories, and the choice of distance measure determines the accuracy and speed of the time series comparison. This paper introduces an optimal transport type distance for comparing time series trajectories that are allowed to lie in spaces of different dimensions and/or with differing numbers of points possibly unequally spaced along each trajectory.
