Traditional biokinetic approaches (such as Monod, Haldane, etc.) can be challenging, as they require detailed knowledge of the organism's metabolism and the ability to solve numerous kinetic differential equations based on the principles of micro, molecular biology and biochemistry (first engineering principles) which can lead to discrepancies between predicted and actual degradation rates.

Background: Estimating the prevalence of schizophrenia in the general population remains a challenge worldwide, as well as in Japan. These approaches are likely to underestimate the true prevalence owing to stigma, poor insight, or lack of access to health care among respondents.

Measurement of Λ_{b}^{0}, Λ_{c}^{+}, and Λ Decay Parameters Using Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-} Decays.

A comprehensive study of the angular distributions in the bottom-baryon decays Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-}(h=π,K), followed by Λ_{c}^{+}→Λh^{+} with Λ→pπ^{-} or Λ_{c}^{+}→pK_{S}^{0} decays, is performed using a data sample of proton-proton collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9  fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV. The decay parameters and the associated charge-parity (CP) asymmetries are measured, with no significant CP violation observed. For the first time, the Λ_{b}^{0}→Λ_{c}^{+}h^{-} decay parameters are measured.

Pitch perception affects children's ability to perceive speech, appreciate music, and learn in noisy environments, such as their classrooms. Here, we investigated pitch perception for pure tones as well as resolved and unresolved complex tones with a fundamental frequency of 400 Hz in 8- to 11-year-old children and adults. Pitch perception in children was better for resolved relative to unresolved complex tones, consistent with adults.

Interface Pressures Derived from a Calibrated Bandage Applied for Compression Therapy.

We sought to clarify the interface pressure (IP) and its variation by applying Biflex16, a calibrated bandage, to the lower leg. In Study I, 50 participants applied a bandage to the lower leg of a single subject in two ways: first, with 50% overlap, while the calibration rectangle became a square (Application 1), and then with 50% overlap without intentional stretch (Application 2) which served as a control. In Study II, another 51 participants applied the bandage to their lower leg via Application 1.

The Practice of Percutaneous EVAR under Local Anesthesia.

Endovascular aortic repair (EVAR) should be performed using a less invasive procedure based on the patient's clinical condition, as many patients who undergo this procedure are elderly and have poor surgical tolerance. We report our experience and results of percutaneous EVAR under local anesthesia in order to practice minimally invasive EVAR at our hospital. In August 2019, we started percutaneous EVAR using Perclose ProGlide under local anesthesia.
