The vulva is a periorificial skin area and as such represents a transitional zone with unique functional and physiological characteristics. Knowledge of its anatomy is limited among both the general population and healthcare professionals, and unrealistic expectations of normal proportions are common. Ignorance of anatomical variations can cause unnecessary anxiety.

Anticipating intramolecular excited-state proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) process within dinuclear Ir-photocatalytic system via the covalent linkage is seminal, yet challenging. Indeed, the development of various dinuclear complexes is also promising for studying integral photophysics and facilitating applications in catalysis or biology. Herein, this study reports dinuclear [Ir(bis{imidazo-phenanthrolin-2-yl}-hydroquinone)(ppy)] (1) complex by leveraging both ligand-centered redox property and intramolecular H-bonding for exploring dual excited-state proton-transfer assisted PCET process.

Objective: Splenectomy is regularly performed in total and distal pancreatectomy due to technical reasons, lymph node dissection and radicality of the operation. However, the spleen serves as an important organ for competent immune function, and its removal is associated with an increased incidence of cancer and a worse outcome in some cancer entities (Haematologica 99:392-398, 2014; Dis Colon Rectum 51:213-217, 2008; Dis Esophagus 21:334-339, 2008). The impact of splenectomy in pancreatic cancer is not fully resolved (J Am Coll Surg 188:516-521, 1999; J Surg Oncol 119:784-793, 2019).

Introduction: Distal junctional kyphosis (DJK) and distal junctional failure (DJF) are known complications of adult multilevel spinal fusion surgery. Previous literature has extensively investigated proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) and proximal junctional failure (PJF), but DJK and DJF are relatively under-studied. This study investigates the association between bone mineral density (BMD) and DJK/DJF via a Systematic Review (SR) and Meta-Analysis (MA).

Background: Propensity score matching has become a popular method for estimating causal treatment effects in non-randomized studies. However, for time-to-event outcomes, the estimation of hazard ratios based on propensity scores can be challenging if omitted or unobserved covariates are present. Not accounting for such covariates could lead to treatment estimates, differing from the estimate of interest.

Incentive salience theory both explains the directional component of motivation (in terms of cue attraction or "wanting") and its energetic component, as a function of the strength of cue attraction. This theory characterizes cue- and reward-triggered approach behavior. But it does not tell us how behavior can show enhanced vigor under reward uncertainty, when cues are inconsistent or resources hidden.

Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are an important therapeutic pillar in metastatic urothelial carcinoma (mUC). The occurrence of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) appears to be associated with improved outcomes in observational studies. However, these associations are likely affected by immortal time bias and do not represent causal effects.

For individuals with motor complete spinal cord injury (SCI), previous works have shown that spared motor neurons below the injury level can still be voluntarily controlled. In this study, we investigated the behavior of these neurons after SCI by analyzing neural and spatial properties of individual motor units using high-density surface electromyography (HDsEMG) and ultrasound imaging. The dataset for this study is based on motor unit data from our previous work (Oliveira .

The CoA thioester of 2-(carboxymethyl)cyclohexane-1-carboxylic acid has been identified as a metabolite in anaerobic naphthalene degradation by the sulfate-reducing culture N47. This study identified and characterised two acyl-CoA dehydrogenases (ThnO/ThnT) and an intramolecular CoA-transferase (ThnP) encoded within the substrate-induced thn operon, which contains genes for anaerobic degradation of naphthalene. ThnP is a CoA transferase belonging to the family I (Cat 1 subgroup) that catalyses the intramolecular CoA transfer from the carboxyl group of 2-(carboxymethyl)cyclohexane-1-carboxyl-CoA to its carboxymethyl moiety, forming 2-carboxycyclohexylacetyl-CoA.

Self-referential negative memory bias contributes to depression and other psychiatric disorders. Co-morbidity between these disorders is highly common in clinical practice, but transdiagnostic predictors like negative memory bias are not well understood yet. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the predictive value of negative memory bias for long-term change in broad psychiatric problems.
