This study aims to investigate the outcomes of venoarterial extracorporeal life support (VA-ECLS) in a large single-center patient cohort regarding survival and adverse events. Between June 2009 and March 2019, 462 consecutive patients received VA-ECLS. The mean age was 66.

[Treatment of acute uncomplicated cystitis in women with antibiotic allergy or intolerance].

Aim: A comparative evaluation of the efficacy and safety of Canephron N and Cystone as monotherapy in women with acute uncomplicated cystitis and antibiotic allergy or intolerance was performed.

Materials And Methods: A prospective, randomized, controlled study of drug Canephron N as monotherapy for acute uncomplicated cystitis in 51 women with a history of antibiotic allergy or intolerance was carried out in 3 urological centers in Perm from 2016 to 2019. In the main group, patients received Canephron N for 30 days, while in comparison group, Cystone was prescribed.

To study the concentration of vasculoendothelial growth factor (VEGF) in mixed saliva and serum of patients in normal conditions and with generalized periodontitis. The main group (n = 42) was represented by patients with generalized periodontitis. The comparison group (n = 36) consisted of patients without periodontal tissue diseases.

Recently, transcatheter aortic valve replacement has been explored as a less invasive option for patients with high-risk surgical profile. In this scenario, aortic valve neocuspidization (AVNeo) has emerged as another option, which can be applied to a wide spectrum of aortic valve diseases.

[Salivary level of lipid peroxidation products as a predictor of dental implantation complications].

The aim of the study was to elucidate of changes in the level of lipid peroxidation products in saliva for the development of a method for the early diagnosis of complications in dental implantation. The study included 53 patients with complications of implant treatment, 31 patients with a safe outcome of dental implantation, and 13 clinically healthy individuals. In the saliva obtained at the stage of preparation for dental implantation, the content of products of lipid peroxidation was determined.

Long-Term Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD): A Rare Case of 10 Years' Support and Follow-Up.

BACKGROUND We report a 66-year-old patient who received implantation of HeartMate II LVAD (St. Jude Medical, Minneapolis, MN, USA) as destination therapy 10 years ago. CASE REPORT Preoperatively, the patient developed acute heart failure due to transmural myocardial infarction requiring catecholamine therapy and intra-aortic balloon pump.

The Level of Neuregulin-1 after Traumatic Brain Injury and Formation of Post-Traumatic Epilepsy.

We evaluated the serum level of neuregulin-1 in humans with traumatic brain injury. The highest levels of neuregulin-1 were revealed in patients with developing post-traumatic epilepsy and the lowest concentrations of this peptide were found in healthy controls. The patients with traumatic brain injury not aggravated by the development of post-traumatic epilepsy had intermediate levels of neuregulin-1.

Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting in a Patient with Situs Inversus Totalis.

BACKGROUND We report a rare case of total arterial coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in a patient with situs inversus totalis (SIT). SIT is a rare variant of biologically normal anatomy, in which the main internal organs are mirrored compared to normal localization. CASE REPORT A 50-year-old patient with SIT and severe coronary stenosis of the left anterior descending artery (LAD) and the ramus circumflexus (RCX) was admitted to our hospital.

[Dynamics of the cognitive sphere indicators and neurotrophic factors in the course of balneotherapy of dyscirculatory encephalopathy].

Background: The natural factors of therapeutic significance play an important role in the rehabilitation of the patients suffering from chronic disorders of cerebral circulation since they are known to promote the development of the compensatory and adaptive processes. However, there is virtually no information in the relevant literature publications about the influence of balneotherapy on the dynamics of the cognitive sphere indicators and neurotrophic factors.

Materials And Methods: A prospective, randomized study of Canephron N and ciprofloxacin for treating mild forms of acute uncomplicated cystitis (ACSS score less or equal 10) comprising 160 women aged 18-55 years was conducted from 2015 to 2017. Group I consisted of 80 women, who received oral Canephron N 2 tablets 3 times daily for 30 days.

[Etiopathogenesis of obstructive sleep apnoea and its consequences in the children].

The article presents the modern view of etiology of the obstructive sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome (OAHSS) in the children taking into consideration the ontogenetic stage and the principal mechanisms of its formation including the short-term and long-term consequences of sleep apnoea with special reference to the pathogenetic commonness of OAHSS with endothelial dysfunction, metabolic syndrome, cardiac disorders, and systemic chronic inflammation. The role of ENT diseases in the children with obstructive sleep apnoea is discussed. The results of genetic studies of the processes influencing the formation of the risk of development of sleep apnoea/hypopnoea syndrome and its outcomes in the children are discussed.

Wilson-Konovalov's disease (DWK) is a polysyndrome hereditary disease associated with excessive accumulation of copper due to the delay in its removal from the body. The condition of the reproductive system in patients with DWK is not well understood. It is proved that copper is a microelement necessary for the synthesis of estrogens, the secretion of prostaglandins in the endometrium.

Aim: To study the dynamics of anxiety-depressive disorders and peripheral blood serotonin in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) during interferon-ß (IFN-ß) therapy.

Material And Methods: The level of anxiety and depression in 227 MS patients was measured by psychometric testing at baseline and during treatment. The concentration of serotonin in serum of patients was determined by enzyme immunoassay.

To-day, the computer-assisted 3D-technologies for the mathematical simulation of the engineering facilities are extensively used for the purpose of technical calculations in all branches of industry and building. The positive experience gained with the application of the 3D-models finds wide application in the joined investigations on the topical problems of the prosthetic and surgical treatment of bones, teeth, joints, cardiac valves, blood vessels, etc. The objective of the present study was the analysis of the positive experience with the involvement of the specialists in the design and practical application of 3D-models for the solution of problems facing the medical prosthetics and the management of various pathological conditions.

[The state of the serotonin system in the patients presenting with chronic polypous rhinosinusitis].

This article presents the results of the study designed to determine the concentration of the neuromediator serotonin in the blood serum and tissue homogenates prepared from the polypous tissue harvested in the patients presenting with chronic polypous rhinosinusitis (CPR). The study included 51 patients with this pathology while 11 patients with chronic maxillary rhinosinusitis (CMR) and deflection of the nasal septum (DNS) made up the group of comparison. The serum serotonin levels were measured and compared in the patients of the main and both control groups.

[The differential approach to the surgical treatment of pathologies of the frontal sinus].

The surgical intervention for the management of frontal sinusitis is required in a large fraction of patients presenting with this condition. The treatment of choice for the pathology in question is endoscopic endonasal frontotomy. Whenever the endoscopic technique is impossible to employ, the surgeon has to resort to an extranasal operation on the frontal sinus.

[The clinical and microbiological characteristics of oropharyngeal candidiasis in the HIV-infected patients at the late stages of the disease].

Oropharyngeal candidiasis in 512 HIV-infected patients at the late stages of the disease was studied with special reference to the clinical and microbiological characteristics of this condition. The diagnosis was established based on the results of the clinical and microbiological examination of the patients including investigation of the tissue samples taken from the oral cavity and the throat with the use of the device specially developed for this purpose. It was shown that the disease existed in various clinical forms the most common of which were monocomponent pathology represented by pseudomembranous candidiasis in 37.

[The spectrum of primary drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in patients with tuberculosis in relation to human immunodeficiency virus status].

Aim: To estimate the detection rate and spectrum of primary drug resistance of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MBT) in patients with tuberculosis (TB) in relation to their human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) status in a region with high HIV infection rates (the Perm Territory) and to compare of drug-resistant MBT (DR-MBT) in patients with HIV/TB co-infection, by using phenotypic and molecular genetic testing (MGT) methods.

Subjects And Methods: The results of sputum bacteriological examination were analyzed in 178 HIV-infected patients and 354 non-HIV-infected individuals with a TB diagnosis made in the period July 1, 2014 to August 1, 2015. The diagnostic algorithm for all patients involved a duplicate sputum test for MBT by two techniques: fluorescence microscopy (FM) and inoculation into the Levenstein-Jensen dense culture medium.
