Background/objectives: Despite the increased use of new resorbable magnesium membranes, there are no reported cases or studies on the use of resorbable magnesium membranes in combination with bone grafts for alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) in cases with severe buccal bone wall dehiscence. This case report aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the magnesium membrane shield technique in conjunction with bone grafting for ARP, assessing both clinical outcomes and histological bone regeneration.
Methods: A 44-year-old female patient presented with a vertical fracture on tooth 24 (FDI Notation System) accompanied with complete destruction of the buccal bone wall.

Alveolar bone augmentation before implant placement is a safe and effective treatment option for the reconstruction of a deficient alveolar ridge. According to recent research, permanent teeth have been used as bone graft materials, with studies confirming their clinical and histological results. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of alveolar ridge augmentation with autogenous tooth roots and staged implant placement, and peri-implant tissue stability in augmented sites.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess the biocompatibility of modern composite and amalgam dental fillings.
Material And Methods: The research was conducted on 150 healthy patients between the ages of 10 and 20 who had amalgam and composite fillings between 6 and 12 months. Under conditions, a swab of buccal cells near the fillings was taken, and the cytotoxic and genotoxic impact of composite and amalgam fillings on these cells was analyzed using the extended micronucleus test (cytomeassay).

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the average dentin wall thickness (DWT) of the maxillary central incisor (MCI) required for performing finite element analysis (FEA) models of root development.
Material And Methods: A total of 137 intraoral periapical radiographs of MCI in children aged 7 to 11 years were examined and then classified into 5 groups according to root development stages, which included 1/2 of root development (S1), 3/4 of root development (S2), more than 3/4 of root development (S3), complete development with wide-open apex (S4) and complete development with closed apex (S5). DWT was measured at three reference (horizontal) lines: at a distance of 1 mm from the apex (M), 4 mm from the apex (L) and at the cervical line (K).

The aim of this study was to investigate leachable components (monomers) in high and low viscosity dental bulk-fill resin composites and conventional resin composite materials after polymerization. Six bulk-fill and six conventional dental resin composite materials were used in this study. The samples of each material (three sets of triplicates) were cured for 20 s with irradiance of 1200 mW/cm with a LED curing unit and immersed in a 75% ethanol solution at 37 °C.

This paper presents the changes caused by macroabrasion of teeth on skeletal remains found in tomb No 4 in the west necropolis of the archeological site Kopila near Blato on the island of Korčula. The site archeologically dates back to the Late Iron Age, when the island was inhabited by the Illyrians. The aim of this study was to assess the dental age of the buried individuals at death and determine the type of their diet, which could give us a preliminary insight into the socio-economic standard of the inhabitants of the settlement.

Purpose: It has not been previously studied whether 1-piece category 1 narrow dental implants (≤2.5 mm wide) can successfully support crowns or small bridges. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the long-term benefits of the fixed-type mini dental implants (MDIs) for replacement of mandibular incisors.

Objective Of Work: It is unclear how long patients need to adapt to new dentures. This study assessed adaptation and five years of clinical use, comparing complete denture wearers (CDs) and mini-implant mandibular overdenture wearers opposing a maxillary CD (MDI-OD), based on oral health reported quality of life (OHRQoL) and orofacial esthetics (OES).
Material And Methods: A total of 36 subjects in the CD group (25 females) and 30 subjects in the MDI group (20 females) completed the 5-year study.

Correct implant positioning poses a major challenge in modern dentistry and mismatch between the planned and final implant position is one of the most common treatment complications. A surgical guide or a template is a ''transmission device'' which enables the implant placement in the intended position as accurate as possible. Case study: A woman aged 60 came into dental office to resolve a single tooth loss in regions 15 and 24.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Er:YAG laser-initiated shockwave-enhanced emission of photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS®) and passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) combining thymol-based solvent or sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) in the removal of filling remnants from curved canals.
Methods: Forty-eight curved root canals were instrumented and filled with an epoxy-resin-based sealer and gutta-percha. The canals were retreated with a Wave One Gold primary file (tip size 25; variable taper) and sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl).
Bilateral symmetrical fibrous palate hyperplasia is not a common case in the literature. The cause of this pathological change is not completely known. The development of hyperplasia may also be associated with a genetic mutation in the gingival soft tissue or gingival injury.

Objectives: To examine the effect of two aging protocols on the chemical and phase composition as well as the surface state of monolithic translucent zirconia ceramics.
Material And Methods: Translucent zirconia ceramics KATANA-Zirconia STML with different surface treatments (no treatment, K1, K2; glazed, G1-G8; polished, P1-P8) underwent testing in order to examine how the two aging protocols (three-hour hydrothermal degradation in an autoclave at 134 °C and 2 bars: G1-G4, P1-P4, and sixteen-hour chemical degradation in four-percent acetic acid at 80 °C (ISO 6872): G5-G8, P5-P8) affect chemical composition, particularly the share of stabilizing yttrium oxide (Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence - EDXRF), phase composition (X-ray diffraction - XRD) and surface state in terms of roughness and gloss.
Results: Aging protocols did not affect the tested chemical composition stability of specimens and a high share of stabilizing yttrium-oxide (≥10% of total content), which correlates with the absence of monoclinic phase.

Cowden syndrome (CS) is a rare autosomal dominant, hereditary, multiorgan disease with higher risk for malignancies (breast, thyroid, endometrium). Mucocutaneous lesions occur in 90% of cases and are characterized by facial trichilemmomas, oral mucosal papillomas, and benign acral keratoses. We present the case of a 39-year-old female patient with the chief complaint of "white spots" on the upper and lower attached gingiva accompanied with skin changes on the face, hands, and soles.

First cancer vaccine that was approved for routine therapy was sipuleucel-T for treatment of patients with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer. However, other immunotherapy drugs evaluated in prostate cancer, particularly immune checkpoint inhibitors, have failed to show therapeutic effect. There are several potential explanations for lack of response of prostate cancer to these drugs.

The aim was to analyze the changes in mandibular dental arch shape during adolescence and assess its relation to late mandibular incisor crowding. Longitudinal study included 68 orthodontically untreated subjects (49% female) and analyzed their data for the ages of 12, 15, 18 and 21 years. Measurements included anterior arch depth, intercanine, interpremolar/anterior and intermolar/posterior width, Little's Irregularity and Bolton's index and the ratio between anterior arch depth and width.

Objective: This study evaluated the effects of curing modes on surface microhardness of visible light-cured resin-modified glass ionomer cements (VLC RMGIC) and a giomer after different storage periods in comparison to auto-cured resin-modified glass ionomer cements (AC RMGIC).
Materials And Methods: The following materials were used: VLC RMIC: Fuji II LC Improved, Photac Fil Quick Aplicap, AC RMGIC: Fuji Plus, Fuji VIII and Giomer: Beautifil II. The measurements of microhardness were performed using a Vickers test (100 g loads were applied for 10 s) in the following time intervals: immediately after the recommended cure and after 1, 7 and 14 days of immersion in distilled water.
