Effects of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation on Clinical Outcomes, Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide, and Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase-Activating Polypeptide-38 Levels in Menstrual Migraine.

Objectives: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) has been suggested as an alternative treatment option for migraine. The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of tDCS on clinical outcomes in addition to calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) and pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide 38 (PACAP-38) levels in individuals with menstrual-related migraine (MRM) for the first time.

Materials And Methods: In this parallel study, 58 female patients between the ages of 18 and 45 years, including 36 with MRM and 22 with nonmenstrual migraines (nMM), were recruited.

Videothoracoscopic First Rib Resection for Neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: Results of 13 Patients.

Purpose: To present the clinical experience in video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) of first rib resection for patients with neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome (NTOS).

Methods: The files of 13 patients (10 males, 3 females) having unilateral NTOS undergoing first rib resection via VATS were retrospectively investigated. The symptoms, operative times, durations of chest tube and hospital stay, complications, and postoperative courses were analyzed.

Clinical and demographic characteristics of late-onset multiple sclerosis: LOMS-TR study.

Objectives: Multiple sclerosis (MS), which is known as a young-adult age disease, is called late-onset MS (LOMS) when it occurs at the age of 50 and older. In our study, we aimed to analyse the clinical and demographic characteristics, comorbidities, diagnostic and treatment challenges and prognosis of LOMS.

Methods: In a retrospective analysis of 136 patients diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) after the age of 50, based on the 2017 McDonald criteria, and who were under observation in eight distinct MS centers across Turkey; demographic information, clinical characteristics of the disease, oligoclonal band (OCB) status, initial and current Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) values, administered treatments, and the existence of spinal lesions on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were investigated.

Comprehensive evaluation of patients with primary hyperoxaluria type 1: A nationwide study.

Background: Primary hyperoxaluria type 1 (PH1) is characterized by increased endogenous oxalate production and deposition as calcium oxalate crystals. Clinical Features of Women with Genito-Pelvic Pain, Penetration Disorder and Disordered Eating Attitudes: A Cross Sectional Study.

Introduction: Current studies indicate a strong relationship between sexual dysfunctions and eating disorders. The aims of this study were to investigate the frequency of disordered eating behaviors (DE) in patients with genito-pelvic pain and penetration disorder (GPPPD); and to determine the clinical features associated with DE.

Methods: Outpatients with GPPPD (n=105) were evaluated with sociodemographic data form, structured clinical interview for DSM-IV (SCID), Golombok-Rust inventory of sexual satisfaction female form (GRISS), Hamilton anxiety rating scale (HAM-A), Hamilton depression rating scale (HAM-D), eating disorder examination questionnaire (EDEQ), and eating attitudes test (EAT-40).

Accuracy of Different Lens Power Calculation Formulas in Patients With Mature Cataracts.

Introduction To compare the prediction accuracy of lens power calculation formulas in patients undergoing mature cataract surgery. Methods A total of 90 operations involving the Alcon SA60AT IOL implant (Alcon, Geneva, Switzerland) were analyzed in terms of mean refractive prediction error (PE) and mean absolute prediction error (MAE) using backward calculation in a retrospective design. Results A negative PE was observed in SRK/T, Holladay 1, Holladay 2, Hoffer Q, Haigis, and Emmetropia Verifying Optical (EVO) formulas.

The role of calcitonin gene-related peptide and substance P in the pathogenesis of dialysis headache.

Aim: The present study aims to establish the role of serum CGRP and SP levels in the disease pathophysiology in patients with dialysis headache not accompanied by primary or secondary headaches, and also whether there is a correlation between these vasoactive peptides and the severity of headache.

Method: This study was designed as prospective and multicenter. A total of 30 dialysis headache patients and 30 patients without headache as the control group in the Nephrology outpatient clinics which implement similar dialysis procedures were included in the study.
