Getting to the Point: Examining Associations Between Adult Interactional Strategies and Infant Gestures.

The developmental importance of infant gesture use is well established, yet few investigations examine what adults can do to facilitate infant gestures. We used an event lag with pauses sequential analysis to generate an index of association between each adult interactional strategy and deictic infant gesture during ten-minute play interactions with 27 typically developing infants (11-25 months) and trained interventionists. We ran correlations to examine potential relationships between the sequential associations, child age, and language scores.

This study aims to investigate the impact of social media-specific epistemological beliefs on vaccine hesitancy and the mediating role of health perception in this impact.

: This study aims to analyze survival in peritoneal and hemodialysis patients using chest radiography and biochemical parameters, determine common dialysis etiologies and causes of death, reveal prognostic factors, and contribute to clinical practice. : A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted with data from 33 peritoneal dialysis and 37 hemodialysis patients collected between October 2018 and February 2020. Survival and mortality were retrospectively tracked over 70 months (October 2018-June 2024).

Comparative assessment of primary cancer cell culture techniques and cellular composition analysis in non-small cell lung cancer.

Preclinical models are required to study individual therapy responses to improve all cancer treatments, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Patient-derived explants (PDEs) culture model is of great importance in terms of the possibility of tumor cell culture with the microenvironment, and the development of molecular mechanisms and personalized treatment methods. In our study, primary tumor culture with microenvironment was performed using different methods from tumor tissues obtained from 51 patients with NSCLC.

Histological and Biomechanical Effects of Local Anesthetics and Steroids on Achilles Tendon: A Study in Rats.

Background: Peritendinous injection of local anesthetics, alone or in combination with corticosteroids, is widely used in the treatment of tendinopathies. Toxicity of local anesthetics has been demonstrated in many cells, including myocytes, chondrocytes, and neurons. Bupivacaine and lidocaine are known to have time- and dose-dependent cytotoxicity in these cells.

With no expected vaccine for HIV in the near future, we aimed to define the current situation and challenges for pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP and PEP) in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The Euroguidelines CEE Network Group members were invited to respond to a 27-item survey including questions on PrEP (response rate 91.6%).

The BabyTok Project: Examining the Feasibility and Acceptability of a Light-Touch Social Media Project for Infant-Toddler Teachers.

Unlabelled: High-quality early care and education is a known protective factor for infants and toddlers who experience early childhood poverty, especially for early communication outcomes. However, the quality of care is variable in the United States, and efforts to increase the quality of interactions is impeded by cost and high rates of turnover in the field. In this paper, we explore a low-cost, light touch social media intervention that uses the TikTok platform to increase infant-toddler teachers' (ITTs) knowledge of early communication and social interactions while validating the important role that ITTs play in the lives of young children.

Background Collateral ligament injuries of the thumb and lesser digits are simple injuries, but they may lead to disabilities in hand function. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy and cost-effectiveness of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in diagnosing proximal interphalangeal (PIP) collateral ligament injuries of lesser digits. Methods A retrospective evaluation was conducted on 18 fingers that had undergone surgery for PIP joint complete collateral ligament injury.

Midterm clinical outcomes of collateral ligament repair of the thumb and lesser digits: a retrospective analysis of 35 cases.

Background: Finger collateral ligament injuries are common, and conservative treatment usually works well. However, complete ruptures that lead to instability could cause painful disability. This study presents our clinical experience and a qualitative functional evaluation following the surgical repair of the thumb and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint collateral ligament ruptures.

Role of silymarin as antioxidant in clinical management of chronic liver diseases: a narrative review.

Chronic liver disease (CLD), manifested as hepatic injury, is a major cause of global morbidity and mortality. However, during its synthesis or deposition, any modification in the resulting optical properties is hardly predicted. In this study, experimental and theoretical analyses of CZTSSe bulk crystals and thin films are presented based on Raman scattering and absorption spectroscopies together with compositional and morphological characterizations.

Background: The principal aim of this study was to investigate the presence of factors affecting Baker's cyst volume in young and middle-aged populations.

Methods: Open cyst excision with valve and capsule repair, as well as knee arthroscopy, were used to treat eighty-five patients. The cases were categorized in terms of age, effusion, chondral lesion degree, meniscal tear degree, and Lindgren scores.

Background: Given the scarcity of alcohol prevention and use disorder treatments in many low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), the World Health Organization has launched an eHealth portal that includes the web-based self-help program "Alcohol e-Health."

Objective: We aimed to test the effectiveness of the Alcohol e-Health program in a randomized controlled trial.

Methods: This was a two-arm, individually randomized, and controlled trial across four LMICs comparing the self-help program and a psychoeducation and internet access as usual waiting list.

Controlled ovarian stimulation outcomes of fertility preservation procedures in newly diagnosed breast cancer patients: a retrospective study from a single-tertiary-IVF centre.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of controlled ovarian stimulation (COS) using the letrozole-supplemented stimulation protocol in breast cancer (BC) patients prior to their cancer treatment. Sixty-one BC patients (Stages 0-3) who were referred to a university IVF unit for fertility preservation (FP) and underwent embryo and/or oocyte cryopreservation between 2008 - 2020 were included in this retrospective study. Time intervals between breast surgery and initial fertility consultation (IFC)/completion of FP procedures were evaluated.

This study aimed to investigate the effects of antithrombotic-adjusted prophylactic doses of nadroparin calcium and rivaroxaban on Achilles tendon healing.  Twenty-four young adult male were randomly divided into three groups.

Novel PD-1 inhibitor prolgolimab: expanding non-resectable/metastatic melanoma therapy choice.

Background: Prolgolimab is an IgG1 anti-PD-1 (programmed cell death protein 1) monoclonal antibody containing the Fc-silencing 'LALA' mutation. We assessed the efficacy and safety of two dosing regimens of prolgolimab in patients with advanced melanoma in a multicenter open-label parallel-arm phase II trial (MIRACULUM). We present the final analysis after 1 year of follow-up and additional efficacy results from 2 years of follow-up.
