Do Changes in Body Shape Due to Pregnancy Lead to Cosmetic Surgery? A Cross-Sectional Study.

Objective: Pregnants and puerperas show different perceptions of their body image and appearance, so authors investigated their perceptions related to pregnancy and puerperium, evaluating their views on cosmetic surgery, by a cross-sectional study.

Materials And Methods: 5-item questionnaires were administrated to women at first pregnancy and puerperas. Patients were submitted also to Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and Body Image Inventory (BII) analysis, indicating the level of anxiety, depression and body dissatisfaction for somatic changes during pregnancy and after childbirth.

The Impact of Mechanical Ventilation Modes on Complications of Fiberoptic Bronchoscopy in Critically Ill Patients.

Objective: The effects of fiberoptic bronchoscopy are not elucidated in different mechanical ventilation modes. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of fiberoptic bronchoscopy on lung mechanics, ventilation parameters, and gas exchange in 2 often-used modes, volume control and pressure control, in invasively ventilated patients followed up in the intensive care unit.

Impact of preoperative computed tomography-determined quantity and quality of skeletal muscle on survival after resected non-small cell lung carcinoma.

Objective: This study investigated the prognostic effect of preoperative skeletal muscle quantity and quality on survival after Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) resection.

Methods: This retrospective study consisted of patients with NSCLC who underwent curative lung cancer resection between 2015 and 2020. Skeletal muscle quantity and quality, as determined by paravertebral muscle index (PVMI) and paravertebral muscle density (PVMD), were measured at the level of the twelfth thoracic vertebra on preoperative images of computed tomography.

Cyclosporine A (CSA) and methotrexate (MTX) is the standard graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis regimen for matched sibling donor (MSD) allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT). Materials And Methods: The study had a descriptive cross-sectional method conducted by examining patients' files retrospectively. The frequency and types of diseases with cancer during the multidisciplinary evaluation of the study group with a BMI ≥ 40 kg/m before bariatric surgery were used as the study data.

PsA patients have been recruited by the Turkish League Against Rheumatism-Network from various centers in Turkey in this cross-sectional study. Patients with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ of 30 kg/m were considered obese.

Role of steroid injection for skin thickness and edema in rhinoplasty patients.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to observe the effect of the triamcinolone acetonide injections in thick skinned patients with ultrasonographic measurements and to compare these results with the postoperative nasal skin thickness of patients that were not injected with steroids.

Methods: A prospective study was planned with 42 thick nasal skinned rhinoplasty candidates in our clinic. Skin thickness of specific points along nose was measured and documented.
