Background: We aimed to evaluate the effects of 6 weeks of agomelatine versus fluoxetine treatment on cognition and sleep.
Methods: Agomelatine 25 mg/day and fluoxetine 20 mg/day were administered to major depressive disorder (MDD) patients. Assessments were conducted before the treatment and at the sixth week of treatment via psychometric measures and comprehensive neurocognitive assessments of various functions, including executive skills, attention, memory, verbal fluency, and speed of processing.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the self-efficacy and healthy lifestyle behavior levels in adolescents with asthma.
Materials And Methods: Socio-demographic questionnaire form, questions about adherence to asthma medication, asthma control test, healthy lifestyle behaviors scale, and self-efficacy scale for children and adolescents with asthma were administered to 150 patients whom age range between 12-18, in follow up with asthma in the pediatric allergy outpatient clinic.
Results: There was no statistically significant relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors scale and self-efficacy scale scores between adolescents with controlled and uncontrolled asthma.

Aim: To assess differences in static/dynamic balance and plantar pressure distribution (PPD) in hyperkyphotic adolescents and young adults based on sagittal spinopelvic alignment changes.
Material And Methods: Twelve hyperkyphotic patients and 12 normal subjects were included in the study group and control group, respectively. Lateral spine X-rays were used to evaluate spinopelvic parameters, thoracic kyphosis, lumbar lordosis (LL), and sagittal vertical axis offsets.

Background: The discovery of anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG)-IgG and anti-aquaporin 4 (AQP4)-IgG and the observation on certain patients previously diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) actually have an antibody-mediated disease mandated re-evaluation of pediatric MS series.
Aim: To describe the characteristics of recent pediatric MS cases by age groups and compare with the cohort established before 2015.
Method: Data of pediatric MS patients diagnosed between 2015 and 2021 were collected from 44 pediatric neurology centers across Türkiye.

This study aimed to examine the primary arthroplasty attitudes of Turkish orthopedics and traumatology specialists and residents to patients with intertrochanteric fractures, of various ages, comorbidity situations and fracture types, using an internet-based questionnaire. Between March and April 2021, a cross-sectional survey was conducted with a total of 159 orthopedics and traumatology specialists and residents in Turkey, using an online questionnaire that consisted of 16 different patient scenarios of varying intertrochanteric fracture types, ages, and comorbidity conditions. Respondents' preference ratio for primary arthroplasty was 24.

Background: Gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) are widely used in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Recently, increased signal intensity has been reported in specific brain areas after repeated administrations of GBCAs.
Purpose: To investigate the toxic effects of GBCAs on neuronal cells by using SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cell cultures.

Introduction: Mucinous adenocarcinomas of the testicular surface epithelial tumors are very rare and are similar to malignant ovarian-type surface epithelial tumors. Although only 32 cases have been reported to date, there are only five cases of primary testicular mucinous carcinoma with access to literature in English. So there is still limited information about clinical, etiopathogenesis and treatment options.

Clinical correlates of obsessive-compulsive symptoms (OCS) were evaluated in 100 adult consecutive outpatients with epilepsy, using the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (OCI-R), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Dissociative Experiences Scale (DES-II), and the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire (SPQ). Dimensional Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (DY-BOCS) was applied to determine the types and severity of OCS to the 45 patients with epilepsy who were over 21 points on the OCI-R scale and 30 patients who were with diagnosed obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) among the patients in the psychiatry outpatient clinic, as a control group. As a result, it was found that patients with epilepsy with OCS tend to have more symmetry/exactness obsessions and compulsions, whereas patients with OCD had significantly more contamination/cleaning and aggressiveness obsessions and compulsions.

Manganese (Mn) is a required element for biological systems; however, its excessive exposure may lead to a neurological syndrome known as manganism. The aim of the present study was to assess the toxic effects of subacute exposure of Mn by measuring weight gain, motor performance, and biochemical parameters (complex I activity, lipid peroxides, and protein carbonyls) in brain mitochondria in rats. We also examined whether edaravone (EDA), a radical scavenger, exerts protective effects against Mn-induced neurotoxicity.

Manganese (Mn), a trace metal, is essential for maintaining the normal regulation of many biochemical and cellular processes. However, accumulation of Mn due to excessive environmental exposure leads to neurological impairment, referred to as manganism. Edaravone (EDA) is a potent free radical scavenger that has been clinically shown to reduce the neuronal injury after cerebral ischemia.

Objectives: The study was aimed at investigating the risk factors of using an intraaortic balloon pump (IABP) in coronary artery bypass surgery and presenting the authors' clinical experience of IABP use.
Material And Methods: The study included 1094 patients who underwent coronary artery bypass surgery at the authors' clinic between January 2009 and December 2011. A comparison was made between 17 patients in whom an IABP was used and 1077 patients in whom it was not used.
