Heart Failure Awareness Survey in a Turkish Population: HFAS-TR.

Objective: Heart failure is a leading cause of death and the most common diagnosis leading to hospitalization. Its awareness is lower than that of other cardiovascular diseases, both in the general population and among patients with heart failure (HF). This study aimed to establish the current level of knowledge about HF in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) in Türkiye.

Tip Surgery in Dorsal Preservation Rhinoplasty: The Effect of Modified Low Septal Strip Septoplasty on Tip Plasty.

Background: The aim in tip surgery is to provide rotation, derotation, projection and deprojection. In this study, we aimed to show the effects of modified low septal strip septoplasty, septal extension graft, TIG technique and additional maneuvers on tip shape in dorsal preservation rhinoplasty (DPR) and to discuss our clinical results.

Patients And Methods: One hundred eighty-nine patients who underwent DPR with modified low septal strip septoplasty between November 2021 and August 2023 were included in the study.

Background: Peripheral intravenous catheter (PIC) implementation is among the most frequent and highly invasive nursing initiatives. PIC leads to anxiety with procedural pain, causing individuals to reject these procedures or negatively affecting the process's success.

Aim: The study was conducted to determine the effect of virtual reality glasses (VRG) on pain, anxiety, and patient satisfaction during the peripheral intravenous catheter (PIC) process in adults.

Effectiveness of whole exome sequencing analyses in the molecular diagnosis of osteogenesis imperfecta.

Objectives: Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is a group of phenotypically and genetically heterogeneous connective tissue disorders that share similar skeletal anomalies causing bone fragility and deformation. This study aimed to investigate the molecular genetic etiology and to determine the relationship between genotype and phenotype in OI patients with whole exome sequencing (WES).

Methods: Multiplex-Ligation dependent Probe Amplification (MLPA) analysis of and and WES were performed on cases between the ages of 0 and 18 whose genetic etiology could not be determined before using a targeted next-generation sequencing panel, including 13 genes (, , , , , , , , , , , , ) responsible for OI.

Background: Sex determination from the bones is of great importance for forensic medicine and anthropology. The mandible is highly valued because it is the strongest, largest and most dimorphic bone in the skull.

Aim: Our aim in this study is gender estimation with morphometric measurements taken from mandibular lingula, an important structure on the mandible, by using machine learning algorithms and artificial neural networks.

Enhanced luminescence of Eu in LaAlBO via energy transfer from Dy doping.

In this study, an investigation was conducted on the structural and photoluminescence (PL) characteristics of LaAlBO (LAB) phosphors initially incorporated with Dy and Eu ions. Subsequently, the impact of varying Eu concentration while maintaining a constant Dy concentration was examined. Structural characterization was performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).

Novel Tb³⁺-Doped LaAl₂B₄O₁₀ phosphors: Structural analysis, luminescent properties, and energy transfer mechanism.

This study explores the structural and luminescent properties of terbium (Tb³⁺)-doped lanthanum aluminium borate (LaAl₂B₄O₁₀, abbreviated as LAB) phosphors, a novel host lattice for Tb³⁺ doping. LAB:Tb³⁺ phosphors, with varying dopant concentrations, were synthesized using a microwave-assisted combustion synthesis approach and characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement, and photoluminescence spectroscopy at both room and low temperatures. The structural analysis confirmed the hexagonal crystal structure of LAB and revealed successful incorporation of Tb³⁺ ions without altering the fundamental lattice.

Molecular Genetic Diagnosis with Targeted Next Generation Sequencing in a Cohort of Turkish Osteogenesis Imperfecta Patients and their Genotype-phenotype Correlation.

Methods: A targeted NGS analysis panel (Illumina TruSight One) containing genes involved in collagen/bone synthesis was performed on the Illumina Nextseq550 platform in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of OI.

Methods: This prospective case-control study was performed from October 2022 to November 2023 and included 124 pregnant women (62 with GDM and 62 controls). Pancreatic circumference, pancreatic echogenicity, umbilical artery Doppler measurements (systolic/diastolic ratio [S/D] and pulsatility index [PI]), SA Doppler measurements (S/D, PI, peak systolic velocity [PSV], time-averaged maximum velocity, and pressure gradient [PG] mean and maximum) values were compared between the GDM and control groups.

Methotrexate (MTX) is commonly used as first-line systemic treatment agent in psoriasis.
