Introduction: Individuals with inborn errors of immunity (IEI) are at increased risk of respiratory infection and frequently receive prolonged broad-spectrum antibiotics, leading to antibiotic resistance. The aim of this study was to identify respiratory pathogens and antibiotic resistance patterns in IEI patients.
Methods: We retrospectively studied 36 IEI patients with positive bacterial growth in sputum cultures between 2014 and 2023.

Purpose: Reinke's edema is a benign lesion affecting the subepithelial layer of the vocal cords, often associated with moderate or heavy smoking. Smoking is the most significant risk factor for dysplastic laryngeal lesions, laryngeal carcinomas, and Reinke's edema. Thus, Reinke's edema could potentially be a predisposing factor for laryngeal malignancy in the long term.

Background: Preeclampsia is still a disease whose cause and treatment have not been fully characterised. Early-onset preeclampsia occurs before the 34th week of pregnancy, and late-onset preeclampsia occurs at 34 weeks or older. In our study, we investigated whether the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and pan immune inflammation value (PIV), which are used in the prognosis and prediction of diseases in new studies in the literature, are useful for predicting early-onset preeclampsia.

Background: Sarcopenia is a progressive age-related skeletal muscle disease associated with adverse outcomes in those with cardiovascular disease. In this study, the prevalence of sarcopenia and its effect on clinical outcomes in heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) patients were examined.
Methods: A total of 722 patients from three centres who applied to the outpatient clinic with the diagnosis of HFmrEF between 01 January 2020 and 01 June 2021 were included in the study retrospectively.

Akathisia is an underestimated but disturbing extrapyramidal side effect of antidepressants, which could reduce treatment compliance in mood disorders. This study aimed to investigate the frequency and risk factors in patients treated with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors/serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitors (SSRI/SNRI). In addition, we assessed the impact of akathisia on the quality of life (QoL).

Background: To examine the prognostic relevance of pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinomas (LA-NPC) patients treated with concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) definitively.
Methods: We used receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis to determine an optimal PIV cutoff that could effectively divide the patient cohort into two distinct groups based on distant metastasis-free (DMFS) and overall survival (OS) results. For this purpose, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was employed.

Background: We evaluated the efficacy of different immunosuppressive regimens in patients with primary membranous nephropathy in a large national cohort.
Methods: In this registry study, 558 patients from 47 centers who were treated with at least one immunosuppressive agent and had adequate follow-up data were included. Primary outcome was defined as complete (CR) or partial remission (PR).

Background: Biliary atresia (BA) is a rare condition of unknown origin in newborns with jaundice. In BA bile ducts are non-functional, causing neonatal cholestasis and following liver fibrosis and failure.
Methods: This retrospective study included liver biopsies of 14 infants with BA aged [mean ± SD] 63 ± 23 days.

Background: Sacubitril/valsartan, an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI), is an established treatment for heart failure (HF) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. It has not been rigorously compared with angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors in children. PANORAMA-HF (Prospective Trial to Assess the Angiotensin Receptor Blocker Neprilysin Inhibitor LCZ696 Versus Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor for the Medical Treatment of Pediatric HF) is a randomized, double-blind trial that evaluated the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), safety, and efficacy of sacubitril/valsartan versus enalapril in children 1 month to <18 years of age with HF attributable to systemic left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD).

Background: Systemic inflammation can significantly impact gliomas' onset, progression, and prognosis. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) represents the glioma subtype characterized by the most profound inflammatory and immunosuppressive states. Consequently, various blood-borne biomarkers have been scrutinized concerning their prognostic value in GBM patients.

Background: Oral isotretinoin is the most effective systemic treatment for acne patients who fail to respond to other forms of therapies. However, hesitations and concerns regarding its side effect profile may detain the patients from treatment. This study aimed to develop and validate the Isotretinoin Hesitancy Scale (IHS) among acne patients.
