An Invasive Solitary Fibrous Tumor/Hemangiopericytoma Originating From the Falx: A Case Report.

Intracranial solitary fibrous tumors (SFTs) and hemangiopericytomas (HPCs) are rare, aggressive tumors typically found along the dural sinuses. Despite their aggressive nature, complete surgical resection remains the most significant factor in reducing recurrence and improving survival. Here, we present the case of a 32-year-old male patient who presented with a new-onset headache and vertigo.

Assessment of dyslipidemia management in Turkey using a Delphi panel.

This study evaluated the management of dyslipidemia in Turkey with the goal of understanding current diagnosis and treatment patterns, as well as identifying unmet needs in achieving effective low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets. Using a Delphi panel consisting of nine expert cardiologists, the study reveals key gaps in dyslipidemia management, particularly in the underutilization of combination therapies, such as statins and PCSK9 inhibitors, which are crucial for achieving LDL-C targets in high-risk patients. The findings indicate that while many patients with very high cardiovascular risk are diagnosed, a significant proportion do not receive optimal treatment to reach LDL-C levels recommended by European guidelines.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of uterine massage performed before placental delivery on the third stage of labor and postpartum hemorrhage after vaginal delivery.

Background: Air pollution has recently been linked to a number of cardiovascular diseases, particularly hypertension (HT). In our study, we aimed to evaluate the association between air pollution and blood pressure (BP) and compare the relationship of BP measurement results obtained using different methods (office, home, and 24-hour ambulatory BP monitoring [ABPM]).

Methods: This retrospective nested panel study performed with prospective Cappadocia cohort data investigated the relationships between particulate matter (PM) 10 and sulfur dioxide (SO2) and concurrent home, office, and 24-hour ABPM data at each control performed over a 2-year period.

Treatment of pediatric femur supracondylar fractures: comparison of K-wire fixation versus plate-screw fixation.

This study aims to compare the clinical and radiological results of patients who underwent plate-screw fixation and K-wire fixation in supracondylar femur fractures in the pediatric population. Patients aged 5-14 years suffering from supracondylar femoral fractures who underwent K-wire and plate-screw fixation were included in the study. Of all patients, follow-up period, age, fracture union time, gender, leg length discrepancy, and Knee Society Score (KSS) data were analyzed.

Methods: A retrospective multicenter cohort study was conducted between March 2020 and April 2021 at 41 PICUs in Turkey. The study population comprised 322 children diagnosed with multisystem inflammatory syndrome.

Background: Since breast cancer is less common in men than in women, data on the use of new therapeutic agents, including cyclin-dependent kinase 4-6 (CDK 4-6) inhibitors, are limited in patients with metastatic hormone receptor positive (HR+), human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HER2-) male breast cancer. Therefore; we aimed to investigate the treatment responses of metastatic HR+, HER2-male breast cancer patients treated with CDK 4-6 inhibitors in a multicenter real-life cohort.

Methods: Male patients with a diagnosis of HR+ and HER2-metastatic breast cancer, treated with any CDK 4-6 inhibitor, were included in the study.

A rare case report: bilateral occipital artery arising from the vertebral artery.

Background: Variations of the origin of the occipital artery (OA) can be considered as congenital anomalies that are often asymptomatic and detected incidentally on angiography or during cadaver dissection. While OA normally originates from the posterior aspect of the external carotid artery (ECA), recent evidence also reflects that OA may infrequently originate from the internal carotid artery (ICA); however, OA originating from the vertebral artery (VA) is a highly rare phenomenon.

Case Presentation: In a 54-year-old female patient with the complaint of left hemiparesis, computed tomography (CT) angiography revealed nonstenotic calcified plaques at the beginning of right ICA where common carotid artery (CCA) bifurcates.
