Objective: Bronchoscopy plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of lung transplant recipients. We retrospectively evaluated the safety, complications, and efficacy of transbronchial biopsy (TBB) in detecting and grading early rejection.
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively assessed the complications associated with TBB and the adequacy of pathological diagnoses in patients who underwent lung transplantation at Koşuyolu Yüksek İhtisas Training and Research Hospital from December 1, 2016, to April 30, 2023.

Background: This study investigates the relationship between healthcare professionals' intention to emigrate and their exposure to violence in Turkey, using a quantile regression model. Through this approach, it aims to reveal how healthcare professionals' attitudes toward brain drain vary across different levels of fear of violence, considering factors such as professional experience and income.
Methods: A cross-sectional study design was employed, utilizing a quantile regression model to analyze the variation in brain drain attitudes across different percentiles.

This study evaluated the management of dyslipidemia in Turkey with the goal of understanding current diagnosis and treatment patterns, as well as identifying unmet needs in achieving effective low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets. Using a Delphi panel consisting of nine expert cardiologists, the study reveals key gaps in dyslipidemia management, particularly in the underutilization of combination therapies, such as statins and PCSK9 inhibitors, which are crucial for achieving LDL-C targets in high-risk patients. The findings indicate that while many patients with very high cardiovascular risk are diagnosed, a significant proportion do not receive optimal treatment to reach LDL-C levels recommended by European guidelines.

Cancer is a genetic disease that affects people worldwide, and breast cancer is the most common cancer in women. Studies have been conducted on molecular parameters to predict tumor behavior and develop therapeutic strategies. Telomeres, which are at the end of chromosomes, have been studied for their relationship with breast cancer, but more research is needed to understand their role in the disease.

Inflammatory prognostic index (IPI), has been shown to be related with poor outcomes in cancer patients. We aimed to investigate the predictive role of IPI for contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) development in non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction patients using a nomogram and performing machine learning (ML) algorithms. A total of 178 patients with CIN (+) and 1511 with CIN (-) were included.

Background: Myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) constitutes a significant subset of acute myocardial infarctions (AMI) with uncertain prognostic markers. Early risk assessment is crucial to identify MINOCA patients at risk of adverse outcomes.
Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the predictive capacity of the PRECISE-DAPT score in assessing short- and long-term prognoses in MINOCA patients presenting with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).

Specific learning disorder (SLD) is a term that refers to reading, writing and arithmetic difficulties. The neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and systemic inflammation index (SII) are affordable and accessible inflammatory biomarkers. This research aims to evaluate the relationship between NLR, PLR, SII and SLD to determine whether inflammation contributes to pathogenesis.

Background/aim: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer in women, emphasizing need for noninvasive blood biomarkers to aid in treatment selection. Previous studies have demonstrated elevated levels of plasma circulating cell-free DNA (ccfDNA) in breast cancer patients. Both ccfDNA and mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) are fragments released into the bloodstream.

Radial artery occlusion (RAO) is a major complication of catheterization via transradial access (TRA). Our aim is to reveal the ability of high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and complete blood count (CBC) components, which are inflammation markers, to predict RAO. Patients were divided into two groups: 103 with RAO and 300 without RAO.

: Lower extremity ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) may occur with trauma-related vascular injury and various vascular diseases, during the use of a tourniquet, in temporary clamping of the aorta in aortic surgery, or following acute or bilateral acute femoral artery occlusion. Mitochondrial dysfunction and increased basal oxidative stress in diabetes may cause an increase in the effects of increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) and mitochondrial dysfunction due to IRI. It is of great importance to examine therapeutic approaches that can minimize the effects of IRI, especially for patient groups under chronic oxidative stress such as DM.

Introduction: The prevalence of sleep disorders in people living with HIV (PLWH) is higher than in the general population. Even if viral suppression is achieved with Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), the chronic immune activation and increased inflammation due to immune reconstitution persist. The aim of our study was to determine the prevalence of poor quality of sleep (QoS) and associated risk factors in PLWH and to investigate the relationship between poor QoS and CD4 T lymphocyte count and CD4 reconstitution.

Objective: Various studies have reported that certain long non-coding RNA levels are unusually low in the intestines of celiac disease patients, suggesting that this may be associated with the inflammation observed in celiac disease. Despite these studies, the research aimed at uncovering the potential role of long non-coding RNAs in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases like celiac disease remains insufficient. Therefore, in this study, we plan to assess long non-coding RNA polymorphisms associated with autoimmunity in children diagnosed with celiac disease according to the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology Hepatology and Nutrition criteria.

Allergen immunotherapy (AIT) is a recognized key therapeutic modality for the treatment of allergic respiratory disease. Definitive studies have provided evidence-based data to demonstrate its effectiveness in allergic rhinitis and asthma due to the inhalation of proteinaceous allergic substances from specific seasonal pollens, dust mites, animal allergens, and certain mold spores. Over the ensuing decades, laboratory investigations have provided objective evidence to demonstrate immunologic changes, including production of protective IgG antibody, suppression of IgE antibody, upregulation of regulatory T cells, and induction of a state of immune tolerance to the offending allergen(s).

The Objective of the study was to assess the ossicular status in chronic otitis media (COM)-mucosal and squamosal type and statistically evaluate the extent of ossicular destruction intraoperatively in COM patients. The findings of this study could help us to predict preoperatively the probability of having ossicular chain destruction in COM ears and thus patients could therefore be properly consented about these potential issues before surgery. The study was carried out in ENT department of tertiary health care hospital, between January 2019 to January 2020.

The Naples prognostic score (NPS), which reflects the inflammatory and nutritional status of patients, is often used to determine prognosis in cancer patients. The aim of this study was to determine the long-term prognostic value of the NPS in acute pulmonary embolism (APE) patients. Two hundred thirty-nine patients diagnosed with APE were divided into two groups according to their NPS, and long-term mortality was compared.
