Health simulation masterclass in Morocco: First edition of training of trainers.

Background: The confluence of recent events has led to a notable increase in the use of health simulation. This work aimed to present and describe the first masterclass program in healthcare simulation dedicated to trainers at Rabat's Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy with the close collaboration of Mohammad VI Foundation of Health and Sciences for its first edition in Morocco.

This comprehensive review explores the key components and benefits of ERAS in colorectal procedures, focusing on preoperative, perioperative, and postoperative strategies aimed at improving patient outcomes. These strategies include preoperative patient education, multimodal analgesia, minimally invasive surgical techniques, and early mobilization.

The effects of high-intensity interval training and moderate-intensity continuous training on patients underwent Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery; a systematic review.

Objectives: To our knowledge, there is no clear consensus on a definitive cardiac rehabilitation method for patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). We conducted this systematic review to compare and evaluate the effects of two of the most frequent cardiac rehabilitation modalities, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT), on cardiopulmonary variables.

Methods: We carried out a systematic search of the databases PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Scopus, and Google Scholar.

Evaluating the Cavitary Lung Lesions on CT Scan of COVID-19 Patients: A Retrospective Study.

Background: It has been shown that cavitary lesions on CT scans of patients with COVID-19 may be related to their clinical symptoms and mortality rate.

Materials And Methods: The study population included patients diagnosed with COVID-19 based on RT-PCR results from throat samples or typical clinical and chest CT scan findings who were hospitalized at Sina Hospital in Tehran in 2020 and underwent chest CT scans. Chest CT scans were examined for the severity of pulmonary opacities and the presence, number, size, wall thickness, and distribution of cavitary lung lesions.

Evaluation of efficacy and safety of generic tacrolimus (Suprotac®) compared to reference tacrolimus (Prograf) in kidney transplantation: a phase IV study.

Background: Transplant recipients are given an immunosuppressive regimen such as tacrolimus to prevent organ rejection. Suprotac® is a generic tacrolimus that is utilized in kidney transplantation regimen in Iran. This post-market study was conducted to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Suprotac® in comparison with Prograf®.

The inability to uphold proper functioning in any of these constituents leads to the disruption of this specialized multicellular arrangement, consequently fostering neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration.

Outcome of selective non-diverting low anterior resection after neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and curative surgery for proximal rectal cancer: A prospective case series.

Background: Low anterior resection (LAR) is the gold standard for curative cancer treatment in the middle and upper rectum. In radically operated patients, the local recurrence rates with total mesorectal excision (TME) after 5 and 10 years was<10%, with 80% in 5 years survival. Anastomotic leakage (AL) affects 4%-20% of patients who underwent LAR.

Background: Synovial sarcoma (SS) is classified as an aggressive high-grade soft tissue sarcoma that predominantly affects the extremities. Despite its prevalence in the extremities (up to 80%), diagnostic and treatment challenges persist. This study aims to address these challenges by providing a comprehensive analysis of SS in extremities, focusing on diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.

Comparison of Outcomes of Hinge Craniotomy Versus Decompressive Craniectomy in Patients With Malignant Intracranial Hypertension: A Prospective, Randomized Controlled Study.

Objective: This randomized controlled trial (RCT) aimed to compare the short-, mid-, and long-term outcomes in patients with malignant intracranial hypertension undergoing either decompressive craniectomy (DC) or hinge craniotomy (HC).

Methods: In this prospective RCT, 38 patients diagnosed with malignant intracranial hypertension due to ischemic infarction, traumatic brain injury, or non-lesional spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, who required cranial decompression, were randomly allocated to the DC and HC groups.

Results: The need for reoperation, particularly cranioplasty, in the DC group was significantly different from that in the HC group.

Myopericarditis in a Patient With Cryoglobulinemic Kidney Disease: A Case Report.

Cryoglobulinemic vasculitis is a rare small-vessel vasculitis leading to multi-organ dysfunction, often associated with chronic infections like hepatitis C virus (HCV), and autoimmune disorders. Most cases involve mixed monoclonal or polyclonal immunoglobulins, presenting symptoms such as purpura, arthralgias, and weakness. Severe organ involvement, particularly cardiac, is rare but potentially life-threatening.

Assessment of dysphagia and its associations in patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis.

In this cross-sectional study in patients with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis receiving anti-CD20 monoclonal antibodies, we assessed complaint of dysphagia and evaluated their association with sex, age, disease duration, disability severity, and disease-modifying therapies (DMTs). The validated Persian version of Dysphagia in Multiple Sclerosis (DYMUS) questionnaire was used. A total of 66 patients were included.

Cone-Beam Computed Tomography Evaluation of the Mandibular Condyle and Articular Spaces Following Orthognathic Surgery Using Freehand Articulation Method in Patients With Class II and III Skeletal Deformity.

This study aimed to assess the changes in the position and size of articular spaces and anteroposterior and mediolateral condyle dimensions following orthognathic surgery. Additionally, it evaluated the correlation between these changes and mandibular movement during surgery. This experimental study examined 31 patients (16 with Class III and 15 with Class II malocclusions) who were candidates for orthognathic surgery.

Multilocular cystic nephroma in a young adult: A case report and review of literature.

Introduction: Multilocular cystic nephroma is an uncommon condition with only few cases described in the literature, although its benign nature is well-recognized.

Case Presentation: We present a case of a 28-year-old male patient who presented with a right flank pain, imaging suspected a multicystic renal cell carcinoma. A radical nephrectomy was performed view the size of the cyst and the high tumor complexity, which histology confirmed the diagnosis of multilocular cystic nephroma.

Emergency departments (EDs) encounter substantial challenges during peak vacation periods, including increased patient volumes, limited access to medical histories, language and cultural barriers, insurance complexities, and disruptions in continuity of care. These factors strain emergency department operations, resulting in prolonged wait times, diagnostic errors, and compromised care quality. This study reviews the literature to identify patient satisfaction indicators and common challenges and evaluate strategies to improve patient outcomes during vacation-related emergency department visits.

Excellent response to levetiracetam for recurrent prolonged sleep attacks in an 18-year-old male: a case report.

Background: Sleep disorders are a common health problem that can be classified into many types that are distinguished by their history and characteristics. In this case report, we discuss a case of a patient suffering from recurrent unusual prolonged sleep attacks lasting up to 9 days that responded excellently to levetiracetam.

Case Presentation: An 18-year-old Syrian male patient presented to the neurology department complaining of recurrent prolonged sleep episodes lasting for 9 days.

Introduction The objectives of this study are to assess the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of patients with chronic inflammatory rheumatism (CIR) about diet. Aiming to identify their level of understanding of the role of nutrition in symptom management, explore their perceptions about different types of foods, and analyze their current dietary habits. The study also aims to assess the impact of this knowledge and dietary changes on their CIR management.
