Triple‑negative breast cancer (TNBC), a highly malignant breast cancer subtype with a pronounced metastatic propensity, forms the focus of the present investigation. MDA‑MB‑231, a prevalently utilized TNBC cell line in cancer research, was employed. In accordance with the tumour angiogenesis theory, cancer cells are capable of instigating angiogenesis and the formation of a novel vascular system within the tumour microenvironment, which subsequently sustains malignant proliferation and metastasis.

Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by reduced platelet levels and heightened susceptibility to bleeding resulting from augmented autologous platelet destruction and diminished thrombopoiesis. Although antibody-mediated autoimmune reactions are widely recognized as primary factors, the precise etiological agents that trigger ITP remain unidentified. The pathogenesis of ITP remains unclear owing to the absence of comprehensive high-throughput data, except for the belated emergence of autoreactive antibodies.

N6-adenosine methylation (m6A) of RNA is involved in the regulation of various diseases. However, its role in chemotherapy-related vascular endothelial injury has not yet been elucidated. We found that methyltransferase-like 3 (METTL3) expression was significantly reduced during doxorubicin (DOX)-induced apoptosis of vascular endothelial cells both in vivo and in vitro, and that silencing of METTL3 further intensified this process.

The issue of hazardous smoke and toxic gases released from epoxy resins (EP), which often causes casualties in real fires, has limited its application. Therefore, we have developed a novel flame retardant based on a bimetallic-doped phytate-melamine (BPM) structure with Zn and Fe ions incorporated into the polymer matrix using a straightforward solution-based synthetic method. The combustion performance of the composite was evaluated using a cone calorimeter test, which showed that the peak heat release, total heat release, and total smoke production were reduced by 50%, 31.

The human brain consists of functionally segregated networks, characterized by strong connections among regions belonging to the same network and weak connections between those of different networks. Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is associated with premature brain aging and neurocognitive impairments. Given the link between decreased brain network segregation and age-related cognitive decline, we hypothesized lower brain segregation in patients with AUD than healthy controls (HCs).

The batch effect is a nonbiological variation that arises from technical differences across different batches of data during the data generation process for acquisition-related reasons, such as collection of images at different sites or using different scanners. This phenomenon can affect the robustness and generalizability of computational pathology- or radiology-based cancer diagnostic models, especially in multicenter studies. To address this issue, we developed an open-source platform, Batch Effect Explorer (BEEx), that is designed to qualitatively and quantitatively determine whether batch effects exist among medical image datasets from different sites.

R-loops, RNA-DNA hybrid structures, are integral to key cellular processes such as transcriptional regulation, DNA replication, and repair. However, aberrant accumulation of R-loops can compromise genomic integrity, leading to the development of various diseases. Emerging evidence underscores the pivotal role of RNA methylation modifications, particularly N6-methyladenosine (mA) and 5-methylcytosine (mC), in orchestrating the formation, resolution, and stabilization of R-loops.

Research on mixed Sn-Pb perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is gaining significant attention due to their potential for high efficiency in all-perovskite tandem solar cells. However, Sn in Sn-Pb perovskite is susceptible to oxidation, leading to a high defect density. The oxidation primarily occurs through two pathways: one involving a reaction with oxygen, and the other related to iodine defects, which generate I and further accelerate the oxidation of Sn⁺, greatly reducing stability.
