The diversity of expertise and interest groups is frequently and simultaneously framed as (1) a strength of the One Health approach in the process of understanding and solving complex problems associated with health challenges such as pathogen spillovers and pandemics and (2) a challenge regarding consensus on essential functions of One Health and the sets of knowledge, skills, and perspectives unique to a workforce adopting this approach. Progress in developing competency-based training in One Health has revealed coverage of various topics across fundamental, technical, functional, and integrative domains.

Purpose: To investigate the anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic effects of the bioactive lipid mediator LXA4 on a rat model of severe corneal alkali injury.
Methods: To induce a corneal alkali injury in the right eyes of anesthetized Sprague Dawley rats. They were injured with a Φ 4 mm filter paper disc soaked in 1 N NaOH placed on the center of the cornea.

Skeletal muscle turnover helps support the physiological needs of dairy cows during the transition into lactation. We evaluated effects of feeding ethyl-cellulose rumen-protected methionine (RPM) during the periparturient period on abundance of proteins associated with transport AA and glucose, protein turnover, metabolism, and antioxidant pathways in skeletal muscle. Helical magnets are emerging as a novel class of materials for spintronics and sensor applications; however, research on their charge- and spin-transport properties in a thin film form is less explored. Herein, we report the temperature and magnetic field-dependent charge transport properties of a highly crystalline MnP nanorod thin film over a wide temperature range (2 K < < 350 K). The MnP nanorod films of ~100 nm thickness were grown on Si substrates at 500 °C using molecular beam epitaxy.

Objective: A study was conducted to determine the chemical composition of banana meal and rice bran from Australia or South-East Asia and test the hypothesis that there are no differences in rice bran produced in different countries, but there are differences between full-fat and defatted rice bran.
Methods: Two sources of banana meal and 22 sources of rice bran (full-fat or defatted) from Australia or South-East Asia were used. All samples were analyzed for dry matter, gross energy, nitrogen, amino acids (AA), acid hydrolyzed ether extract (AEE), ash, minerals, total starch, insoluble dietary fiber, and soluble dietary fiber.

Here, we report the discovery and complete genome sequence of a novel virus, designated as "Phytophthora heveae alphaendornavirus 1" (PhAEV1), from a single isolate of the plant pathogenic oomycete Phytophthora heveae (kingdom Stramenipila) isolated from a tropical evergreen lowland rainforest in northern Vietnam. PhAEV1 was detected by both cellulose affinity chromatography of dsRNA and high-throughput sequencing of total RNA, and its presence and sequence were confirmed by RT-PCR and Sanger sequencing. Breeding program to improve economically important growth traits in striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) requires effective molecular markers. This study was conducted to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Insulin-like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 7 (IGFBP7) gene which plays multiple roles in regulating growth, energy metabolism and development. Background: Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) is a biomarker for recent alcohol consumption that would ideally validate self-reported alcohol consumption behaviors. We assessed the relationship between PEth and several self-reported alcohol consumption metrics among hazardous alcohol users living with HIV in Vietnam.
Methods: Participants in a three-arm randomized controlled trial assessing two alcohol interventions reported recent alcohol consumption on a 30-day timeline follow-back interview and had a PEth assessment at enrollment, 3 months, and 12 months of the study follow-up.

Materials And Methods: The number of red blood cells, platelets, and white blood cells on the blood samples of 60 individuals, including healthy subjects (n = 20), patients with gingivitis (n = 20), and patients with periodontitis (n = 20), were analyzed before preparing A-PRF+ and i-PRF. In addition, the antibacterial effect of the two platelet concentrates was evaluated by using the agar diffusion test and a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) experiment.

Background: Study results of prediagnostic dietary fat intake and breast cancer mortality have been inconclusive. While dietary fat subtypes [saturated (SFA), polyunsaturated (PUFA), and monounsaturated (MUFA) fatty acids] may have different biological effects, there is little evidence regarding the association of dietary fat and fat subtype intake with mortality after breast cancer diagnosis.
Methods: Women with incident, pathologically confirmed invasive breast cancer and complete dietary data (n = 793) were followed in a population-based study, the Western New York Exposures and Breast Cancer study.

Their chemical structures were elucidated by extensive 1D and 2D NMR analysis and high-resolution mass spectroscopy as well as comparisons in literature. This research assesses the adaptive capacity of farmers in the Vietnamese Mekong Delta's floodplains (VMD) with respect to hydrological changes.
