RNA N$^{6}$-methyladenosine (m$^{6}$A) is a critical epigenetic modification closely related to rice growth, development, and stress response. m$^{6}$A accurate identification, directly related to precision rice breeding and improvement, is fundamental to revealing phenotype regulatory and molecular mechanisms. Faced on rice m$^{6}$A variable-length sequence, to input into the model, the maximum length padding and label encoding usually adapt to obtain the max-length padded sequence for prediction.

Facilitating swift burn wound healing while effectively preventing scar formation continues to be a considerable challenge in medical practice. In this study, an injectable carboxymethyl chitosan/oxidized dextran/polyvinylpyrrolidone/dopamine (COPD) hydrogel was designed for the effective sequentially promotion of burn wound healing and inhibition of scar formation. The COPD hydrogel precursor solution was injected into the burn wound via a double-barreled syringe and transformed into an adherent hydrogel within 25 s.

Tobermorite (TOB) is a synthetic inorganic mineral material with a montmorillonite-like layered structure that removes heavy metals from water, and its incorporation into starch-based hydrogels can optimize the stability and adsorption properties of the hydrogels; it can also significantly reduce the storage pressure of fly ash (FA) and reduce environmental pollution. This study utilized starch/tobemolite/acrylic acid (LR/TOB/AA) as the raw material, successfully synthesizing a starch-tobemolite composite hydrogel (LR-TOB/AA) using aqueous solution polymerization. The hydrogel exhibits excellent water absorption and retention capabilities, as well as a significant adsorption effect on Pb(II).

Bacterial gene expression is a complex process involving extensive regulatory mechanisms. Along with growing interests in this field, Nanopore Direct RNA Sequencing (DRS) provides a promising platform for rapid and comprehensive characterization of bacterial RNA biology. However, the DRS of bacterial RNA is currently deficient in the yield of mRNA-mapping reads and has yet to be exploited for transcriptome-wide RNA modification mapping.

Food emulsifiers like glycerol monostearate (G) and Tween 80 (TW) are commonly used to help formation and maintain stability of emulsions. However, certain food contaminants and emulsifiers often co-occur in the same food item due to food culture and cooking methods. For this reason, the present study investigated interaction of toxic effect of emulsifiers (G and TW) and process contaminants (acrylamide (AA) and benzo [a]pyrene (BAP)) on zebrafish.

Many cancer-driving protein targets remain undruggable due to a lack of binding molecular scaffolds. In this regard, octahedral metal complexes with unique and versatile three-dimensional structures have rarely been explored as inhibitors of undruggable protein targets. Here, we describe antitumor iridium(III) pyridinium-N-heterocyclic carbene complex , which profoundly reduces the viability of lung and breast cancer cells as well as cancer patient-derived organoids at low micromolar concentrations.

A large number of patients are affected by classical heart failure (HF) symptomatology with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and multiorgan syndrome. Due to high morbidity and mortality rate, hospitalization and mortality remain serious socioeconomic problems, while the lack of effective pharmacological or device treatment means that HFpEF presents a major unmet medical need. Evidence from clinical and basic studies demonstrates that systemic inflammation, increased oxidative stress, and impaired mitochondrial function are the common pathological mechanisms in HFpEF.

Food products simultaneously containing both food contaminants and emulsifiers are common in baked products, coffee and chocolate. Little is known regarding how food contaminants and emulsifiers interact and alter toxicity. Recent studies have shown that while emulsifiers themselves have little toxicity, they could cause changes in the gut microenvironment and lead to issues such as increased uptake of allergens.

Despite the well-described discrepancy between (macroautophagy/autophagy-related) genes in the regulation of hematopoiesis, varying essentiality of core ATG proteins in vertebrate definitive hematopoiesis remains largely unclear. Here, we employed zebrafish () to compare the functions of six core genes, including , (beclin1), , , , and , in vertebrate definitive hematopoiesis via clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-Cas9 ribonucleoprotein and morpholino targeting. Zebrafish with various mutations showed autophagic deficiency and presented partially consistent hematopoietic abnormalities during early development.

Although practicing a task generally benefits later performance on that same task, there are individual differences in practice effects. One avenue to model such differences comes from research showing that brain networks extract functional advantages from operating in the vicinity of criticality, a state in which brain network activity is more scale-free. We hypothesized that higher scale-free signal from fMRI data, measured with the Hurst exponent (), indicates closer proximity to critical states.

As a highly specialized shock-absorbing connective tissue, articular cartilage (AC) has very limited self-repair capacity after traumatic injuries, posing a heavy socioeconomic burden. Common clinical therapies for small- to medium-size focal AC defects are well-developed endogenous repair and cell-based strategies, including microfracture, mosaicplasty, autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI), and matrix-induced ACI (MACI). However, these treatments frequently result in mechanically inferior fibrocartilage, low cost-effectiveness, donor site morbidity, and short-term durability.

Traditional eye drops are convenient to use; however, their effectiveness is limited by their poor retention time and bioavailability in the eyes due to ocular barriers. Therefore, strategies to enhance ocular drug delivery are required. Herein, we constructed a mucin-1 aptamer-functionalized liposome and loaded it with cyclosporin A, a common ocular drug in eye drops used to treat dry eye diseases (DED).

Background: Protein-protein interaction (PPI) data is an important type of data used in functional genomics. However, high-throughput experiments are often insufficient to complete the PPI interactome of different organisms. Computational techniques are thus used to infer missing data, with link prediction being one such approach that uses the structure of the network of PPIs known so far to identify non-edges whose addition to the network would make it more sound, according to some underlying assumptions.

Predicting the trajectories of surrounding vehicles is an essential task in autonomous driving, especially in a highway setting, where minor deviations in motion can cause serious road accidents. The future trajectory prediction is often not only based on historical trajectories but also on a representation of the interaction between neighbouring vehicles. Current state-of-the-art methods have extensively utilized RNNs, CNNs and GNNs to model this interaction and predict future trajectories, relying on a very popular dataset known as NGSIM, which, however, has been criticized for being noisy and prone to overfitting issues.

Multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) is an indispensable tool in the clinical workflow for the diagnosis and treatment planning of various diseases. Machine learning-based artificial intelligence (AI) methods, especially those adopting the deep learning technique, have been extensively employed to perform mpMRI image classification, segmentation, registration, detection, reconstruction, and super-resolution. The current availabilities of increasing computational power and fast-improving AI algorithms have empowered numerous computer-based systems for applying mpMRI to disease diagnosis, imaging-guided radiotherapy, patient risk and overall survival time prediction, and the development of advanced quantitative imaging technology for magnetic resonance fingerprinting.
