Purpose: This multicenter phase Ib study investigated trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) plus nivolumab in patients with HER2-expressing metastatic breast cancer (mBC) and metastatic urothelial cancer (mUC).
Patients And Methods: Part 1 determined the recommended dose for expansion of T-DXd plus nivolumab. Part 2 evaluated efficacy and safety; the primary endpoint was confirmed objective response rate by independent central review.

In Mexico, 75% of diabetes mellitus type 2 (DMT2) patients are not in glycaemic control criteria (HbA1c<7%); this entails a significantly variable drug response. Amongst the factors influencing such variability, are genetics, more specifically, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). Three genes implied in metformin pharmacokinetics are , , and , which are polymorphic.

Substance Use Disorders (SUDs) manifest as persistent drug-seeking behavior despite adverse consequences, with Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) representing prevalent forms associated with significant mortality rates and economic burdens. The co-occurrence of AUD and OUD is common, necessitating a deeper comprehension of their intricate interactions. While the causal link between these disorders remains elusive, shared genetic factors are hypothesized.

The association of AA with malignancies has been a scope of controversy as the current literature is highly inconsistent in this regard. To evaluate the association between AA and hematological malignancies (HMs) and solid malignancies (SMs) using a large-scale, real-life computerized database. A cross-sectional study was conducted to compare the prevalence of HMs and SMs among patients with AA relative to age-, sex-, and ethnicity-matched control subjects.

Boosting the transport and selectivity properties of membranes based on polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs) toward one specific working analyte of interest is challenging. In this work, a novel family of PIM membranes, prepared by casting and exhibiting optima mechanical properties and high thermal stability, was synthesized from 4,4'-(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-phenylethane-1,1-diyl) bis(benzene-1,2-diol) and two tetrafluoro-nitrile derivatives. Gas permeability measurements evidenced a CO/CH selectivity up to 170% relative to the reference polymer, PIM-1, in agreement with their calculated fractional free volume and the analysis of the textural properties by N and CO gas adsorption.

Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) -supplemented extenders have emerged as a welfare-orientated method to induce ovulation in the artificial insemination (AI) of rabbits. The main factor that limits the bioavailability of GnRH analogue on intravaginal administration is the proteolytic activity of enzymes present in rabbit seminal plasma. The use of GnRH analogues with higher biological potency would allow us to decrease their concentration in the seminal dose without compromising effectiveness.

β-nerve growth factor (βNGF) plays a crucial role in reproductive physiology and sperm quality. Enzymatic activity of seminal plasma and vaginal fluids reduces available βNGF and it has been demonstrated that chitosan microspheres could protect rrβNGF from degradation. This study examined the effects of microencapsulated rrbNGF with chitosan on rabbit sperm viability, motility and capacitation status.

The present study aimed to evaluate whether primed anoestrus mares are suitable recipients for embryos produced by intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Anoestrus was confirmed in four mares and daily doses of oestradiol benzoate (6 mg in total) over 5 days were administered; after 3 days of rest, oral altrenogest was administered at 0.088 mg/kg and embryos (1 to 5 embryos per mare; 15 in total) were transferred 3.

Bacterial cellulosic polymers constitute a prevalent class of biofilm matrix exopolysaccharides that are synthesized by several types of bacterial cellulose secretion (Bcs) systems, which include conserved cyclic diguanylate (c-di-GMP)-dependent cellulose synthase modules together with diverse accessory subunits. In E. coli, the biogenesis of phosphoethanolamine (pEtN)-modified cellulose relies on the BcsRQABEFG macrocomplex, encompassing inner-membrane and cytosolic subunits, and an outer membrane porin, BcsC.

Glial reactivity may contribute to sex/gender differences in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathophysiology. Here, we investigated the differential effect of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) glial markers on AD pathology and neurodegeneration by sex/gender among cognitively unimpaired older adults at increased risk of developing AD. We included 397 participants from the ALFA+ cohort with CSF Aβ, p-tau, sTREM2, YKL40, and GFAP, magnetic resonance imaging-based hippocampal volume (n = 299), and amyloid burden (centiloids) measured with [F] flutemetamol positron emission tomography (n = 341).

Remdesivir is a broad-spectrum antiviral drug which has been approved to treat COVID-19. Remdesivir is in fact a prodrug, which is metabolized in vivo into the active form remdesivir triphosphate (RTP), an analogue of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) with a cyano group substitution in the carbon 1' of the ribose (1'-CN). RTP is a substrate for RNA synthesis and can be easily incorporated by viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerases (RdRp).
