In this work, we developed a general synthesis method for the water-soluble lanthanide ion-doped NaYF upconversion (UC) nanoparticles (NPs) using triethylene glycol (TEG) as a high temperature solvent and diacid as a surfactant. Since the boiling point of the TEG is as high as 289.4 °C, the synthesis temperature can be correspondingly increased to a higher temperature that is a bit lower than this one.

Electronic address:

N-methyladenosine (m6A) is the most prevalent chemical modification in eukaryotic mRNAs and plays key roles in diverse cellular processes. Precise localization of m6A sites is thus critical for characterizing the functional roles of m6A in various conditions and dissecting the mechanisms governing its deposition. Here, we design a combined framework of Transformer architecture and recurrent neural network, deepSRAMP, to identify m6A sites using sequence-based and genome-derived features.

Satisfactory chemotherapeutic efficiency depends on improving the insufficient selectivity of chemotherapeutic drugs and decreasing damages to healthy tissues/cells, hence, the reasonable design and construction of drug carriers are of great significance in tumor treatment. Herein, the pH-sensitive MOF carrier was developed via the decoration of 4-formylphenylboronic acid (4-FPBA) for controlled 5'-deoxy-5-fluorocytidine (DFCR) release with selectivity. Besides, chitosan (CS) was introduced as the "gatekeeper" for the prevention of drug leakage.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis is well accepted as a potential precursor of hepatocellular carcinoma. Previously, we reported that fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21) revealed a novel anti-inflammatory activity via inhibiting the TLR4-IL-17A signaling, which could be a potential anticarcinogenetic mechanism to prevent to MASH-HCC transition. Here, we set out to determine whether FGF21 has a major impact on Kupffer cells' (KCs) ability during MASH-HCC transition.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-responsive drug delivery systems possess immense potential for targeted delivery and controlled release of therapeutics. However, the rapid responsiveness to ROS and sustained release of antibacterial drugs are often limited by the challenging microenvironment of periodontitis. Integrating ROS-responsive drug delivery systems with photocatalytic technologies presents a strategic approach to overcome these limitations.

Precise theranostics of tumors is intricately linked to the early detection and monitoring of lymph nodes (LN) and metastases, making the targeted localization of LNs essential for tumor identification. However, designing LN-targeting probes remains a significant challenge due to issues such as lymphatic uptake, biocompatibility, and fluorescence stability. To address these challenges, near-infrared II (NIR-II) fluorescence probes are developed through meticulous analysis of LN physiological structure and passive targeting strategy for LN detection and tumor therapy.

We previously discovered that macrophages (MΦs), especially tumor-associated MΦs (tMΦs), contribute to chemotherapy resistance in multiple myeloma (MM). However, the mechanism underlying MΦ-mediated chemotherapy resistance in MM needs further elucidation, and the identification of factors that preferentially abrogate MΦ-induced inhibition of MM chemotherapy may have important clinical significance. In this study, we showed that the expression of FASN and SCD2, the enzymes that synthesize palmitic acid and convert it to palmitoleic acid, was decreased in tMΦs compared with MΦs.
