Objective: The difficulty of establishing slow release at intestinal infection sites, weak antibacterial effects, as well as the limited broad use of florfenicol oral formulations are the main targets of the current study. Novel hydrogels derived from sodium alginate were developed using a complexation form for florfenicol delivery to achieve slow release at the site of intestinal infection and enhance its antibacterial activity against .
Methods: The optimal formulation, physicochemical properties, stability, pH-responsive performance, antibacterial activity, and in vitro biosafety of the florfenicol hydrogels have been studied systematically.

Bioadhesive hydrogels show great promise in wound closure due to their minimally invasive nature and ease of use. However, they typically exhibit poor wet adhesion and mechanical properties on wet tissues. Herein, a ready-to-use bioadhesive hydrogel (denoted as PAA-NHS/C-CS) with rapidly robust adhesion and high mechanical strength is developed a simple one-pot UV crosslinking polymerization of acrylic acid (AA), catechol-functionalized chitosan (C-CS), and acrylic acid -hydroxysuccinimide ester (AA-NHS ester).

Non-invasive continuous detection using tears or sweat as substitutes for blood samples has become an emerging method for real-time monitoring of human health. However, its development is limited by the low sample volume and low level of analytes. The simultaneous determination of multi-analytes with highly sensitive electrochemical sensing platforms has undoubtedly resulted in breakthrough innovations.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) involves complex dysregulated cellular processes, including programmed cell death (PCD), influenced by N6-methyladenosine (m6A) RNA modification. This study integrates bulk RNA and single-cell sequencing data to identify 43 prognostically valuable m6A-related PCD genes, forming the basis of a 13-gene risk model (m6A-related PCD signature [mPCDS]) developed using machine-learning algorithms, including CoxBoost and SuperPC. The mPCDS demonstrated significant predictive performance across multiple validation datasets.

Glyphosate (Gly) is a widely used herbicide for weed control in agriculture, but it can also adversely affect crops by impairing growth, reducing yield, and disrupting nutrient uptake, while inducing toxicity. Therefore, adopting integrated eco-friendly approaches and understanding the mechanisms of glyphosate tolerance in plants is crucial, as these areas remain underexplored. This study provides proteome insights into Si-mediated improvement of Gly-toxicity tolerance in Brassica napus.

To enhance the retention of compost nutrients, specifically in nitrogen metabolism and humification, compound microbial agents were added during the aerobic composting of bagasse pith and buffalo manure. The introduction of the microbial agent successfully colonized the mixture, boosted the degradation capacity of organic matter, and facilitated the formation of nitrogenous substances and humic substances (HSs). The incorporation of a composite microbial inoculum led to a substantial rise in total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN) by 62.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is a heterogeneous cancer. In contrast to other tumor cells, which rely primarily on aerobic glycolysis (Warburg effect) as their energy source, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) is also one of its major metabolic modes. Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) play a regulatory function in various biological processes in tumor cells.

Background: Recent studies suggest that neutrophil elastase inhibitor (Sivelestat) may improve pulmonary function and reduce mortality in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome. We examined the association between receipt of sivelestat and improvement in oxygenation among patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) induced by COVID-19.
Methods: A large multicentre cohort study of patients with ARDS induced by COVID-19 who had been admitted to intensive care units (ICUs).

Despite the many advantages for industrial mass production, vacuum-deposited organic solar cells (OSCs) suffer from low efficiency, primarily due to the limited molecular library of small-molecule donor and acceptor materials, which remains a significant challenge. Herein, two donor-acceptor-acceptor (D-A-A)-configured small-molecule donors, named TTBTDC and TTBTDC-F were synthesized, using 8H-thieno[2',3':4,5]thieno[3,2-b]thieno[2,3-d]pyrrole (TTP) as a new fused-ring donor unit. Benefiting from the strong electron-donating ability of the TTP moiety and the adoption of the D-A-A molecular configuration, these molecules exhibited strong visible and near-infrared absorption as well as deep-lying highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels.

Epitranscriptomic modifications, particularly N6-methyladenosine (mA), are crucial regulators of gene expression, influencing processes such as RNA stability, splicing, and translation. Traditional computational methods for detecting mA from Nanopore direct RNA sequencing (DRS) data are constrained by their reliance on experimentally validated labels, often resulting in the underestimation of modification sites. Here, we introduce pum6a, an innovative attention-based framework that integrates positive and unlabeled multi-instance learning (MIL) to address the challenges of incomplete labeling and missing read-level annotations.

During hypoxia, tissues are subjected to an inadequate oxygen supply, disrupting the balance needed to maintain normal function. This deficiency can occur due to reduced oxygen delivery caused by impaired blood flow or a decline in the blood's ability to carry oxygen. In tumors, hypoxia and vascularization play crucial roles, shaping their microenvironments and influencing cancer progression, response to treatment and metastatic potential.

Annealing plays a crucial role for in enhancing the gas sensing properties of MOF-derived TiO (MIL-125). Generally, TiO transforms into different polymorphs (anatase, rutile, and brookite) during annealing, each with unique crystal structures and gas sensing properties. The aim of this research was to investigate the impact of annealing (500-650 °C) on the properties of MIL-125, which had not been previously studied.

Eutectogels are recently emerged as promising alternatives to hydrogels owing to their good environmental stability derived from deep eutectic solvents (DES). However, construction of competent eutectogels with both high conductivity and mechanical toughness is still difficult to achieve yet highly demanded. In this work, new LMNP-PEDOT-CMC-AA (LPCA) eutectogels are prepared using acrylic acid (AA) and carboxymethylcellulose sodium (CMC) as polymeric networks, liquid metal nanoparticle-poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (LMNP-PEDOT) are added as multifunctional soft fillers.
