Chronic wound treatment has always been a major clinical challenge owing to complex and dynamic wound microenvironment. The design and development of effective management with antimicrobial activity, ROS-scavenging and regulation immune response is vital for tissue repair. Herein, we developed puerarin (PUE) loaded a double network hydrogel consisting of methacrylated carboxymethyl chitosan and oxidized dextran with Schiff base and photo-crosslinking reaction.

Article Synopsis
  • N6-methyladenosine (m6A) plays a critical role in various biological processes, but its specific impact on sepsis-induced cardiac dysfunction and mitophagy remains unclear.
  • This study found that FTO, an m6A demethylase, significantly influences m6A modification in heart cells during sepsis and is essential for managing mitophagy, a process vital for cell health.
  • Results showed that FTO mitigates cardiac injury by reducing harmful mitochondrial activity and regulating the expression of the mitophagy-related protein BNIP3, suggesting a potential target for therapies aimed at treating cardiac dysfunction in sepsis.

Institute of Liver Diseases, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Traditional Chinese Clinical Medicine, Key Laboratory of Liver and Kidney Diseases (Ministry of Education), Shuguang Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai, 201203, China. Electronic address:

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Antiviral therapy can alleviate liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B, but it has a limited effect on advanced liver fibrosis/cirrhosis. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), particularly FuZheng HuaYu (FZHY) tablet, appears to have an antifibrotic effect, but its improving resolution of hepatitis b virus (HBV) -associated advanced fibrosis and experienced anti-viral treatment has not been investigated.

Aim Of The Study: To observe the safety and efficacy of adjunctive FZHY on the HBV-associated cirrhosis patients who received 2 years of entecavir but still with advanced fibrosis.

Objective: To assess the effect and safety of Hydroxysafflor Yellow A for Injection (HSYAI) in treating patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) and blood stasis syndrome (BSS).

Methods: A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, multiple-dose, active-controlled phase II trial was conducted at 9 centers in China from July 2013 to September 2015. Patients with moderate or severe AIS and BSS were randomly assigned to low-, medium-, high-dose HSYAI groups (25, 50 and 70 mg/d HSYAI by intravenous infusion, respectively), and a control group (Dengzhan Xixin Injection (, DZXXI) 30 mL/d by intravenous infusion), for 14 consecutive days.

Bone defects arise from trauma, skeletal diseases or tumor resections have become a critical clinical challenge. Biocomposite materials as artificial bone repair materials provide a promising approach for bone regeneration. In this study, we used silk fibroin (SF), carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS), cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) and strontium substituted hydroxyapatite (Sr-HAp) to prepare the biocomposite scaffolds of SF/CMCS, SF/CMCS/CNCs, SF/CMCS/CNCs/Sr-HAp.

We conducted a prospective study to investigate whether ERCC1 rs11615 and rs3212986 and ERCC2 rs13181 and rs1799793 gene polymorphisms could serve as potential biomarkers for the prognosis of gastric cancer. Between January 2010 and December 2012, 246 patients with pathologically proven gastric cancer who were receiving platinum-based chemotherapy were recruited from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University. The genotyping of the gene polymorphisms was conducted using the polymerase chain reaction coupled with restriction fragment length polymorphism.
