Introduction: Poststroke depression (PSD) is common but insufficiently addressed by health professionals, and management is not always evidence-based.
Objectives: This evidence implementation project aimed to improve adherence to evidence-based practice for screening, prevention, and management of patients with PSD in the neurology ward of the Fifth Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical University, China.
Methods: This project was based on the JBI methodological approach and was conducted in three phases, from January to June 2021: a baseline audit, implementation of strategies, and a follow-up audit.

This article reports the outcomes of qualitative research on the teaching of "vulnerability in research" undertaken with principal investigators of international bioethics training programs funded by the Fogarty International Center of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the United States. To properly contextualize this research, we begin with an overview of the various ways in which vulnerability has been conceptualized both by writers and by ethical guidance from low-, middle-, and high-income countries. We conclude with some preliminary suggestions for best practice and recommendations for further research.

Parenting is a fundamental life domain with increasing evidence suggesting the parenting role has the capacity to inform and promote mental health recovery. Two reviews examined the current tools available to assess parenting in the context of recovery. Review one identified 35 quantitative measures of parenting used in interventions for parents with mental health problems.

There is limited empirical evidence about member checking, a long-standing qualitative research technique for establishing validity. I conducted directed content analysis of ethnographic data detailing the process and outcomes of a "dialogic" member checking approach I implemented in rural Swaziland. It involved 10 participants, checking results about their participation and empowerment as co-researchers in participatory health research.

Background: Medication errors commonly occur when patients move from the community into hospital. Whereas medication reconciliation by pharmacists can detect errors, delays in undertaking this can increase the risk that patients receive incorrect admission medication regimens. Orthopedic patients are an at-risk group because they are often elderly and use multiple medications.

When a child dies in the intensive care unit, many bereaved parents want relationships with their child's health care staff to continue in the form of follow-up care. However, the nature of these relationships and how they change across the parents' bereavement journey is currently unknown. This article explores early and ongoing relationships between parents and health care staff when a child dies in intensive care.

Non-selective inhibitors of spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) efficiently suppress disease in T cell-dependent models of crescentic glomerulonephritis. However, the therapeutic potential of selective SYK inhibitors in this disease has not been established. In addition, we lack knowledge regarding SYK expression in non-myeloid cells in glomerulonephritis.

Background: Poor communication of medication information to general practitioners when patients are discharged from hospital is a widely recognised problem. There has been little research exploring the accuracy of medication information in electronic discharge summaries (EDS) linked to hospital e-prescribing systems.
Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of medication lists and medication change information in EDS produced using an integrated e-prescribing and EDS system (where EDS discharge medication lists were imported from discharge e-prescription records, medication change information was manually entered, and medications were dispensed from paper copies of the patients' e-prescriptions).

In community-based participatory research (CBPR), community-level consent is assumed to enhance ethical rigor, when obtained prior to individual informed consent. However, community leaders' permission to conduct research may influence individuals' agency to decline participation. This article presents findings of a Bourdieusian analysis of ethnographic data documenting CBPR in rural Swaziland.

Acquired brain injury (ABI) is associated with a range of cognitive and motor deficits, and poses a significant personal, societal, and economic burden. Rehabilitation programs are available that target motor skills or cognitive functioning. In this review, we summarize the existing evidence that training may enhance structural neuroplasticity in patients with ABI, as assessed using structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based techniques that probe microstructure or morphology.

Aim: Receiving professional help early can reduce long-term harms associated with substance use. However, little is known about the factors that influence help-seeking for substance use problems during early-mid adolescence, prior to the emergence of disorder. Given that beliefs regarding help-seeking are likely to develop early, understanding adolescent views of help-seeking during this period is likely to provide important information for prevention and intervention efforts.

Objective: This review examines the existing evidence for the relationship between borderline personality disorder and polycystic ovary syndrome, and to identify commonalities in etiological mechanisms of borderline personality disorder and polycystic ovary syndrome that might explain the relationship between these seemingly disparate disorders.
Methods: A search of Medline, EMBASE and Cochrane Central was undertaken on 5 December 2016 to identify studies investigating women with borderline personality disorder and polycystic ovary syndrome (or symptoms and markers specific to polycystic ovary syndrome).
Results: Nine studies were identified, including three cross-sectional studies investigating symptoms of polycystic ovary syndrome in women with borderline personality disorder, two cross-sectional and one cohort study examining the prevalence of psychiatric diagnoses in women with polycystic ovary syndrome and three case reports of comorbid borderline personality disorder and polycystic ovary syndrome.

Background: Organ transplantation into sensitized patients with preexisting donor-specific antibodies (DSA) is very challenging. Spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) promotes leukocyte recruitment and activation via signaling through various cell surface receptors. We investigated whether a selective Syk inhibitor (GS-492429) could suppress antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) in a rat model of AMR in sensitized recipients.
