: Lung ultrasound (LUS) is a tool of growing interest in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) oligo- symptomatic ILD to avoid. : We aimed to evaluate (i) the prevalence of pleural (PLUS) and parenchymal (PAUS) abnormalities in LUS in the RA population and their possible correlation to biomarkers; (ii) the predictivity of gender, smoking habits, previous infections (past COVID-19 tuberculosis), and treatments; (iii) the differences in LUS between sexes. : We collected the data of 155 (15 early and 140 late) RA patients with mild respiratory symptoms, evaluating PLUS and PAUS, in fourteen lung areas and also summing the scores (LUS-T).

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of protein-based tissue adhesive (Bioglue) in reducing time to haemostasis in patients undergoing peripheral vascular surgery.

Methods: From January to December 2021, 100 consecutive patients from 4 centres have been treated with open peripheral vascular surgery including upper and lower limb interventions. Patients have been allocated in each centre into control with no use of Bioglue (, 50 patients) or use of Bioglue (, 50 patients) by a block randomization method 10:10 until the required sample size was reached.

Standardizing data collection in adjuvant colon cancer trials: A consensus project from the IDEA and ACCENT international consortia and national experts.

Background: Despite contributions provided by the recent clinical trials, several issues and challenges still remain unsolved in adjuvant colon cancer (CC). Hence, further studies should be planned to better refine risk assessment as well as to establish the optimal treatment strategy in the adjuvant setting. Cutaneous vasculitis: insights into pathogenesis and histopathological features.

The mechanisms underlying the onset and progression of vasculitis remain poorly understood. This condition is characterized by damage to the vascular wall, recruitment of inflammatory cells, and subsequent structural remodeling, which are hallmarks of vasculitis. The histopathological classification of vasculitis relies on the size of the affected vessel and the predominant type of inflammatory cell involved - neutrophils in acute cases, lymphocytes in chronic conditions, and histiocytes in granulomatous forms.

Objective: This study aimed to compare two commercially available off the shelf branched endografts for thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysm (TAAA) repair, namely the E-nside (Artivion) and Zenith t-Branch (Cook Medical) devices.

Methods: This multicentre retrospective study (2020 - 2023) included patients treated by branched endovascular aortic repair (BEVAR) for TAAA using the inner branched E-nside or the outer branched t-Branch. Endpoints were 30 day technical success and major adverse events (MAEs) as well as one year freedom from target vessel instability and main endograft instability.

Sudden Visual Loss due to Arteritic Anterior Ischaemic Optic Neuropathy: A Rare Manifestation of Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis.

Background: eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) is a rare multisystem inflammatory disease characterized by asthma, eosinophilia and granulomatous or vasculitic involvement of various organs. While the eye is uncommonly affected in patients with EGPA, multiple ophthalmic manifestations have been reported, which can result in serious visual impairment without timely treatment.

(1) : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory joint disease, primarily characterized by pain. A significant proportion of patients report symptoms suggestive of neuropathic pain. The objectives of this study were to investigate the presence of an increased cross-sectional area (CSA) of the palmar digital nerves by ultrasound in patients with active synovitis of the metacarpophalangeal joints and to identify potential predictors of such an increase.

This article aims to detect lung cavitations using lung ultrasound (LUS) in a cohort of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) and correlate the findings with chest computed tomography (CT) and chest X-ray (CXR) to obtain LUS diagnostic sensitivity. Patients with suspected TB were enrolled after being evaluated with CXR and chest CT. A blinded radiologist performed LUS within 3 days after admission at the Infectious Diseases Department.
