Bone regeneration is a highly dynamic and complex process that involves hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal cells, collagen fibers, non-collagenous proteins and biomolecules from extracellular matrices, and different cytokines and immune cells, as well as growth factors and hormones. Some phytochemicals due to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects can modulate the bone signaling pathways and improve bone healing and thus can be a good candidate for osteoregeneration. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of L.

Anomalies in lipid metabolism involve multifactorial pathogenesis, among other factors, being associated with an inflammatory state and disturbances in vitamin D status. The literature has focused on the binary relationships between inflammation and dyslipidemia, vitamin D and dyslipidemia, or vitamin D and inflammation. Our study aimed to explore the link between all these three factors: 25-OH vitamin D serum levels, the presence of inflammation assessed through serum C-reactive protein (CRP), and serum lipid profile in 2747 hospitalized patients.

Gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) represent a subset of gastrointestinal tumors predominantly found in the stomach. Despite their rarity, these tumors carry significant implications for patient health and management. GISTs are potentially malignant tumors with unpredictable progression.

Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN) is a common neonatal condition in newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). PPHN has still a high mortality and morbidity. Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) is the first line vasodilator therapy for PPHN in high income countries.

D-bifunctional protein deficiency (D-BPD) is a rare, autosomal recessive peroxisomal disorder that affects the breakdown of long-chain fatty acids. Patients with D-BPD typically present during the neonatal period with hypotonia, seizures, and facial dysmorphism, followed by severe developmental delay and early mortality. While some patients have survived past two years of age, the detectable enzyme activity in these rare cases was likely a contributing factor.

Introduction: Spontaneous tumor regression is an extremely rare phenomenon in the oncology field.
Presentation Of Case: We present the case of a 72-years-old male patient presenting with a bulky hepatic tumor mass located in segment V and extending into segments IVb and VI with MRI features of atypical cholangiocarcinoma with a liver metastasis in segment III. In first surgical step, excision of the metastasis, and ligation of the right portal vein was done.

Background: Acute pancreatitis is an inflammation of the pancreas with variable outcomes depending on its severity. Multiple systems of prediction have been proposed, each with variable specificity and sensitivity and with uneven clinical use. Ferritin is a versatile protein associated with various acute and chronic conditions.

Curcumin (CU) is a polyphenolic compound extracted from turmeric, a well-known dietary spice. Since it has been shown that CU exerts beneficial effects on human health, interest has increased in its use but also in its analysis in different matrices. CU has an antioxidant character and is electroactive due to the presence of phenolic groups in its molecule.

Ferulic acid (FA), a monohydroxycinnamic acid, is an antioxidant with multiple beneficial effects on human health, presenting also importance in the food and cosmetics industry. Its electrochemical behavior was investigated at the disposable and cost-effective pencil graphite electrode (PGE). Cyclic voltammetry emphasized its pH-dependent, diffusion-controlled oxidation.

Background: As the COVID-19 pandemic evolved, concerns grew about its impact on pregnant women. This study aimed to determine how SARS-CoV-2 affects pregnancy, birth, and newborns, in order to identify vulnerable individuals and provide proper care.
Methods: This is a retrospective case-control study of 398 pregnant women who delivered at the Emergency Clinical County Hospital in Sibiu, Romania from 1 February 2020 to 31 March 2022.

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic brought a burden and represented a challenge for the Romanian medical system. This study explored the consequences that COVID epidemiological measures had on the quality of the mental health care provided to hospitalized patients in a regional psychiatric hospital in Romania.
Materials And Methods: Both patient-level and hospital-level indicators were considered for this comparative retrospective study.

: Retromode is a relatively new retinal-imaging technique that is based on the transillumination principle and is obtained with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope that uses light in the infrared spectrum. The laser light penetrates into the deep retinal layers and the choroid. Retromode images are captured with a laterally displaced aperture, and the detector captures only the scattered light.

This review summarizes the literature data reported from 2000 up to the present on the development of various electrochemical (voltammetric, amperometric, potentiometric and photoelectrochemical), optical (UV-Vis and IR) and luminescence (chemiluminescence and fluorescence) methods and the corresponding sensors for rifamycin antibiotics analysis. The discussion is focused mainly on the foremost compound of this class of macrocyclic drugs, namely rifampicin (RIF), which is a first-line antituberculosis agent derived from rifampicin SV (RSV). RIF and RSV also have excellent therapeutic action in the treatment of other bacterial infectious diseases.

A simple and rapid differential pulse voltammetric (DPV) method using a single-use electroactivated pencil graphite electrode (PGE*) is proposed for the rapid screening of the total content of polyphenolics (TCP) with intermediate antioxidant power (AOP) in grapefruit peel and fresh juice. The results were compared and correlated with those provided by the HPLC-DAD-MS method. NG voltammetric behavior at PGE* was studied by cyclic voltammetry and an oxidation mechanism was suggested.

Background: It has been estimated that between 30 and 50 per cent of all injuries that take place throughout participation in a sport are the consequence of soft tissue injuries, and muscle injuries are the primary cause of physical disability.
Methods: The current literature review was designed between October 2021 and April 2022, according to the PRISMA standards, using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases. At the screening stage, we eliminated articles that did not fit into the themes developed in all subchapters of the study ( = 70), articles that dealt exclusively with orthopaedics ( = 34), 29 articles because the articles had only the abstract visible, and 17 articles that dealt exclusively with other techniques for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.

The role of vitamin D in the human body is a complex one, proven by the many studies performed related to this aspect. Data from the literature on the correlation between vitamin D deficiency and thyroid autoimmune pathology, although present and increasing in the last 10 years, have failed to establish exactly whether or not there is a link between them. The aim of the study was to assess the status of vitamin D in patients with autoimmune thyroid disease; and to determine if there is a correlation between parameters such as: thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), free thyroxine (FT4), ATPO; and vitamin D levels.

Currently, sports activities require a high reaction speed, coordination, and balance, highlighting the relationship between proprioceptive control, visual control, and hand-eye coordination in youth. The present research assessed the proprioceptive control, reaction speed, and lower limb balance of youth from five different schools to identify the level of physical preparation of children in this direction. This prospective study was conducted between 1 January 2020 and 29 February 2020.

This study aimed to evaluate the comparative biological effects of (PAH) extract and quercetin-entrapped liposomes on doxorubicin (Doxo)-induced toxicity in HUVECs. HUVECs were treated with two formulations of liposomes loaded with PAH extract (L5 and L6) and two formulations of liposomes loaded with quercetin (L3 prepared with phosphatidylcholine and L4 prepared with phosphatidylserine). The results obtained with atomic force microscopy, zeta potential and entrapment liposome efficiency confirmed the interactions of the liposomes with PAH or free quercetin and a controlled release of flavonoids entrapped in all the liposomes.
