The treatment of renal cancer has changed in the last decades with an increase in application of conservative surgery such as partial nephrectomy (PN) in order to achieve an optimal oncological outcome with the maximum preservation of renal function. The indication for PN is mandatory in case of bilateral tumors or in case of impaired renal function. Renal artery (RA) aneurysm (RAA) is a rare occurrence, and its treatment could be radiological or surgical according to the anatomy of the aneurysm and the clinical characteristics of the patients.

Low-grade gliomas (LGGs) are the most common childhood brain tumor in the general population and in individuals with the Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) cancer predisposition syndrome. Surgical biopsy is rarely performed prior to treatment in the setting of NF1, resulting in a paucity of tumor genomic information. To define the molecular landscape of NF1-associated LGGs (NF1-LGG), we integrated clinical data, histological diagnoses, and multi-level genetic/genomic analyses on 70 individuals from 25 centers worldwide.

Frequency of acute rejection (AR) after pediatric liver transplant remains high despite progress in immunosuppression. Liver biopsy (LB) is the reference standard for the diagnosis of AR despite its potential for morbidity. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the ability of acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) imaging to distinguish AR from other causes of short- and medium-term liver dysfunction and to identify liver transplant cases with normal liver function.

Introduction: High-grade neuroepithelial tumor with BCOR alteration (HGNET BCOR) has been recently classified as a new category of tumors among those previously known as PNET. They are molecularly characterized by the mutation of the BCOR gene, a corepressor of BCL6 a gene (which has an important role in immune responses). Only case reports and very small series have been published so far; therefore, their behavior and management are still under investigation.

Objectives: We sought to evaluate dexmedetomidine efficacy in assuring comfort and sparing conventional drugs when used for prolonged sedation (≥24 hr) in critically ill patients, by using validated clinical scores while systematically collecting drug dosages. We also evaluated the safety profile of dexmedetomidine and the risk factors associated with adverse events.
Design: Observational prospective study.
Background: Biotinidase deficiency (BTD) is an autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism provoking progressive biotin depletion, which causes, in turn, multiple carboxylase deficiency. Its infantile onset is characterized by intractable seizures associated with lethargy, psychomotor regression, hypotonia, feeding and respiratory problems, and cutaneous abnormalities.
Case Description: We describe a 52-month-old female whose clinical and neuroradiological pictures were consistent with myelopathy, which is generally more frequent in older patients, as well as with symptoms of an infantile onset of biotinidase deficiency, revealed at 17 months.

Alcohol use disorder which includes alcohol abuse and dependence represents one of the leading risk factors for premature mortality in Europe and it is responsible of over 200 conditions, including neuropsychiatric disorders, chronic diseases, cancers and accidents leading to permanent disability. Alcohol use disorder represents the most common cause of liver damage in the Western world, with a wide spectrum of diseases ranging from steatosis, steatohepatitis, fibrosis, cirrhosis and cancer. The present clinical practice guidelines by the Italian Association for the Study of the Liver (AISF) are focused on the current knowledge about epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of alcohol associated liver disease, aiming to provide practical recommendations on the management of this complex pathological condition.

Background Resting-state functional MRI holds substantial potential for clinical application, but limitations exist in current understanding of how tumors exert local effects on resting-state functional MRI readings. Purpose To investigate the association between tumors, tumor characteristics, and changes in resting-state connectivity, to explore neurovascular uncoupling as a mechanism underlying these changes, and to evaluate seeding methodologies as a clinical tool. Materials and Methods Institutional review board approval was obtained for this HIPAA-compliant observational retrospective study of patients with glioma who underwent MRI and resting-state functional MRI between January 2016 and July 2017.

Biliary cannulation represent a challenge for the endoscopists that approach to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, with non-negligible rate of failure even in expert hands. In order to achieve the biliary tree, two main technique are nowadays mainly used, namely the contrast-assisted cannulation and the wire-guided cannulation (WGC) techniques. The WGC technique is widely used because it seems to be related to higher success rate of cannulation of the common bile duct and, at the same time, to lower rates of complications.
