Breast cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among women worldwide, and recent research highlights its growing connection to alterations in the microbiota. This review delves into the intricate relationship between microbiotas and breast cancer, exploring its presence in healthy breast tissue, its changes during cancer progression, and its considerable impact on both the tumor microenvironment (TME) and the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). We extensively analyze how the microbiota influences cancer growth, invasion, metastasis, resistance to drugs, and the evasion of the immune system, with a special focus on its effects on the TIME.

: The significance of periodontal disease as a public health issue prompts the exploration of effective treatments, including the potential use of tocopherol (Vitamin E) due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. : The PICO statement (Population, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome) was as follows: In patients with periodontal disease, does tocopherol (Vitamin E) supplementation compared to no supplementation or insufficient Vitamin E intake improve clinical outcomes such as gingival inflammation, pocket depth, and clinical attachment levels? This study searched through PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science up to June 2024 focused on studies involving human subjects with various forms of periodontal disease, analyzing the impact of tocopherol through dietary or supplementary intake. Primary outcomes evaluated included improvements in gingival inflammation, pocket depth, and clinical attachment levels, with data synthesis conducted according to PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines.

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is a complex mental health condition with a multifaceted and incompletely elucidated pathophysiology. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as potential biomarkers due to their role in gene regulation and the observed dysregulation in MDD. The aim of this study is to detect the presence of specific molecular diagnostic biomarkers in major depressive disorder.

Autologous breast reconstruction, especially using the deep inferior epigastric artery perforator (DIEP) flap, is increasingly seen as a reliable, safe, and long-term alternative to implant-based reconstruction. Despite the recognized advantages of the DIEP flap for breast reconstruction, successful realization demands excellent anatomical knowledge, a thorough understanding of autologous breast reconstruction concepts and advanced microsurgical skills. Given that the porcine model is widely employed in microsurgical training, our study aims to assess this model using validated outcomes, with the objective of evaluating the enhancement in a surgeon's learning curve following training with this model.

Infections, particularly those involving the respiratory tract, are associated with an increased incidence of cardiovascular events, both de novo and as exacerbations of pre-existing cardiovascular diseases. Influenza vaccination has consistently been shown to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular events. Nonetheless, vaccination rates among adults remain suboptimal, both in the general population and among high-risk individuals.

The principles of tissue preservation, minimally invasiveness and approaching different clinical situations biologically rather than surgically govern today's dentistry. Thus, different clinical scenarios require procedures that offer the dentist and the patient the possibility to choose the more invasive treatment options later in life. Subsequently, the case reported refers to a minimally invasive technique that treats single tooth edentulism using single partial retainer FDPs fabricated from monolithic zirconia.

Background And Objectives: This retrospective study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative blood transfusions in correcting anemia for pediatric patients with congenital malformations (CMs) versus those with acute abdomen (AA) conditions. The study hypothesized that the response to transfusions might vary significantly between these groups due to the differences in the underlying pathology and clinical status.
Methods: The study included 107 pediatric patients admitted to Timisoara 'Louis Turcanu' Emergency Hospital for Children between January 2015 and May 2023, who required blood transfusions for preoperative anemia.

: Obesity remains a widely debated issue, often criticized for the limitations in its identification and classification. This study aims to compare two distinct systems for classifying obesity: body mass index (BMI) and body fat percentage (BFP) as assessed by bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA). By examining these measures, the study seeks to clarify how different metrics of body composition influence the identification of obesity-related risk factors.
