Purpose: Photon-correlation spectroscopy (PCS) (quasi-elastic light scattering spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering spectroscopy) allows the non-invasively reveal of local dynamics and local heterogeneities of macromolecular systems. The capability of this technique to diagnose the retinal pathologies by in-vivo investigations of spatial anomalies of retinas displaying non-exudative senile macular degeneration was evaluated. Further, the potential use of the technique for the diagnosis of the macular degeneration was analyzed and displayed by the Receiver Operating Curve (ROC).

Objectives: This study evaluated the influence of different rehydration media and time periods on biomechanical and structural properties of different acellular collagen matrices (ACMs).
Materials And Methods: Specimens of three ACMs (mucoderm®, Mucograft®, Dynamatrix®) were rehydrated in saline solution (SS) or human blood for different time periods (5-60 min). ACMs under dry condition served as controls.

Introduction: Ectromelia is a congenital abnormality characterised by limb growth disturbances (aplasia or hypoplasia) during the period from 4th to 8th gestation week.
Case Outline: We present a case of hemimezomelic longitudinal ectromelia of the right upper limb associated with other skeletal abnormalities, surgically treated. An important role in the management of this case is attributed to the complex rehabilitation programme done before and after each surgical intervention.
