Kartagener syndrome (KS), also known as primary ciliary dyskinesia, is a rare genetic disorder commonly diagnosed early in childhood. It is characterized by a triad of findings, namely, situs inversus, chronic sinusitis, and bronchiectasis. Here, we present the case of a 73-year-old female who incidentally presented the KS triad during her imaging tests in the emergency department of our institution for COVID-19 symptoms.

Background: Lung involvement in the context of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies has significant impact on outcome; early and accurate diagnosis is important but can be difficult to achieve. In particular, patients without clinically evident muscle involvement pose a significant diagnostic challenge.
Methods: A computer-assisted search was conducted to identify patients with amyopathic interstitial lung disease associated with the presence of myositis-specific autoantibodies.

Lung neuroendocrine tumors (LNETs) and gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) are two distinct types of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) that have traditionally been treated as a single entity despite originating from different sources. Although they share certain phenotypic characteristics and the expression of neuroendocrine markers, they exhibit differences in their microenvironment, molecular mutations, and responses to various therapeutic regimens. Recent research has explored the genetic alterations in these tumors, revealing dissimilarities in the frequently mutated genes, the role of EGFR in carcinogenesis, the presence of transcription factors, and the immunogenicity of the tumor and its microenvironment.

The shortcomings of qualitative visual assessment have led to the development of computer-based tools to characterise and quantify disease on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) in patients with interstitial lung diseases (ILDs). Quantitative CT (QCT) software enables quantification of patterns on HRCT with results that are objective, reproducible, sensitive to change and predictive of disease progression. Applications developed to provide a diagnosis or pattern classification are mainly based on artificial intelligence.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality in the world. It greatly affects the patients' quality of life, and is thus a challenge for the daily practice in respiratory medicine. Advances in the genetic knowledge of thoracic tumours' mutational landscape, and the development of targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors, have led to a paradigm shift in the treatment of lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma.

Methods: A computer-assisted search was conducted to identify patients encountered at Mayo Clinic from 1998 to 2022 and had leukemic pulmonary infiltrates (LPI) with CLL demonstrated on lung biopsy.

Different prognostic scores have been applied to identify patients with non-small cell lung cancer who have a higher probability of poor outcomes. In this study, we evaluated whether the Naples Prognostic Score, a novel index that considers both inflammatory and nutritional values, was associated with long-term survival. This study presents a retrospective propensity score matching analysis of patients who underwent curative surgery for non-small cell lung cancer from January 2016 to December 2021.
