Background/objectives: Evidence-based information is crucial for policymakers and providers of mental health and psychosocial services (MHPSS) for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC). However, there is a scarcity of national-level studies investigating the MHPSS needs of UASC and how these are addressed in Greece. The research objectives of this study were to explore: (a) the psychosocial and mental health needs of UASC living in Greek long-term accommodation facilities as perceived by MHPSS providers, and (b) the range of services across the country, highlighting gaps and best practices in service delivery.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a complex metabolic disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, which derives from either insufficient insulin production [type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM)] or both impaired insulin sensitivity along with inadequate insulin production [type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)] and affects millions of people worldwide. In addition to the adverse effects of DM on classical target organs and tissues, skeletal health can also be adversely affected. There is considerable evidence linking DM with osteoporosis.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the optimal volume of serous fluid needed for accurate diagnosis using The International System for Reporting Serous Fluid Cytopathology (TIS), as well as to provide information on the distribution of serous effusion cases in the TIS categories (ND: non-diagnostic, NFM: negative for malignancy, AUS: atypia of undetermined significance, SFM: suspicious for malignancy, MAL: malignant) and relevant epidemiological data.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of 2340 serous effusion cases (pleural, peritoneal, and pericardial) from two hospitals between 2018 and 2020 was conducted. TIS categories were assigned to each case, and for 1181 cases, these were correlated with the volume of the analyzed fluid.

Post-polypectomy syndrome or post-polypectomy coagulation syndrome (PPCS) is a rare adverse event of thermal injury caused during hot snare aided, endoscopic mucosal resection of colon polyps. Its diagnosis is tricky as it is commonly misdiagnosed as perforation leading to unnecessary exploratory abdominal surgeries. The authors aim to present an early diagnosed and successfully treated, case of PPCS, and to highlight the difference in the safety profile of two techniques; hot snare versus cold snare polypectomy.

Aortic stiffness and systemic inflammation are predictors of cardiovascular risk. Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor agents (anti-VEGF), injected intravitreally, can reverse the course of exudate age-related macular degeneration (AMD). We sought to investigate the association of changes in aortic stiffness and systemic inflammation with response to anti-VEGF therapy.

The sleep apnea syndrome is a chronic condition that affects the quality of life and increases the risk of severe health conditions such as cardiovascular diseases. However, the prevalence of the syndrome in the general population is considered to be heavily underestimated due to the restricted number of people seeking diagnosis, with the leading cause for this being the inconvenience of the current reference standard for apnea diagnosis: Polysomnography. To enhance patients' awareness of the syndrome, a great endeavour is conducted in the literature.

Purpose: Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) are a high-risk subset of patients, whose optimal antithrombotic treatment strategy, involving a combination of anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents, has not been well defined. Our study aims to investigate contemporary "real-world" trends of antithrombotic treatment strategies in AF patients undergoing PCI, as well as identify factors affecting decision-making at hospital discharge.
Methods: "Real-world" data were retrieved from the GReek-AntiPlatElet Atrial Fibrillation (GRAPE-AF) registry, a contemporary, nationwide, multicenter, observational study of AF patients undergoing PCI.
