Aim: To analyze the seroprevalence of HEV in exposed (animal-related professions) and nonexposed populations, as well as solid organ and hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients.

Association between Insertion-Deletion Polymorphism of the Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Gene and Treatment Response to Antipsychotic Medications: A Study of Antipsychotic-Naïve First-Episode Psychosis Patients and Nonadherent Chronic Psychosis Patients.

Global Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Stroke Volumes and Cerebrovascular Events: A 1-Year Follow-up.

Diagnostic Accuracy of Salivary aMMP-8 Test in Infertile Women and Blood Finding Analysis.

Malignant insulinoma: Can we predict the long-term outcomes?

Insulinomas are the most frequent type of functional pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors with a variety of neuroglycopenic and autonomic symptoms and well-defined diagnostic criteria; however, prediction of their clinical behavior and early differentiation between benign and malignant lesions remain a challenge. The comparative studies between benign and malignant cases are limited, suggesting that short clinical history, early hypoglycemia during fasting, high proinsulin, insulin, and C-peptide concentrations raise suspicion of malignancy. Indeed, malignant tumors are larger with higher mitotic count and Ki-67 proliferative activity, but there are no accurate histological criteria to distinguish benign from malignant forms.

Analysis of polymorphisms in EGF, EGFR and HER2 genes in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs).

Objectives: Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare and account for about 7% of all cancers occurring in the pancreas. The epidermal growth factor family of receptors and their ligands play an important role in the growth and progression of tumors but their role in PNET development remains unknown. We hypothesized that functional single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the EGF, EGFR, and HER2 genes might affect individual susceptibility to PNETs development and invasion like it was shown for various other tumors.

Background: Diabetic patients tend to have increased platelet reactivity after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Prognostic Significance of Lymphocyte Infiltrate Localization in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.

High infiltration by tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) is associated with favorable prognosis in different tumor types, but the clinical significance of their spatial localization within the tumor microenvironment is debated. To address this issue, we evaluated the accumulation of intratumoral TILs (itTILs) and stromal TILs (sTILs) in samples from 97 patients with early triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in the center (sTIL central) and periphery (sTIL peripheral) of tumor tissues. Moreover, the presence of primary and secondary lymphoid aggregates (LAs) and the expression levels of the cancer testis antigen (CTA), NY-ESO-1, and PD-L1 were explored.

Novel Therapeutic Effects in Rat Spinal Cord Injuries: Recovery of the Definitive and Early Spinal Cord Injury by the Administration of Pentadecapeptide BPC 157 Therapy.

Recently, marked therapeutic effects pertaining to the recovery of injured rat spinal cords (1 min compression injury of the sacrocaudal spinal cord (S2-Co1) resulting in tail paralysis) appeared after a single intraperitoneal administration of the stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157 at 10 min post-injury. Besides the demonstrated rapid and sustained recovery (1 year), we showed the particular points of the immediate effect of the BPC 157 therapy that began rapidly after its administration, (i) soon after injury (10 min), or (ii) later (4 days), in the rats with a definitive spinal cord injury. Specifically, in counteracting spinal cord hematoma and swelling, (i) in rats that had undergone acute spinal cord injury, followed by intraperitoneal BPC 157 application at 10 min, we focused on the first 10-30 min post-injury period (assessment of gross, microscopic, and gene expression changes).

Whole-Body Vibration Effects on Flexibility in Artistic Gymnastics-A Systematic Review.

It is well documented that whole body-vibration training has effects on muscle strength and flexibility, blood circulation, decreases pain perception and strengthens bone and tendon. Although whole body-vibration has benefits in athletes' flexibility, we are not sure what its actual effects are in artistic gymnastics (since they already have stunning flexibility). Hence, the aim of this study was to analyse the studies on whole-body vibration in artistic gymnastics and to present the effects on flexibility.
