Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by deficits in social skills and the presence of repetitive and restricted behaviors and interests. The social behavior of the zebrafish (Danio rerio) makes this organism a valuable tool for modeling ASD in order to explore the social impairment typical of this disorder. In addition to transgenic models, exposure of zebrafish embryos to valproic acid (VPA) has been found to produce ASD-like symptoms.

Salivary gland dysfunctions are common conditions variously related to aging, inflammatory players, and any other factor able to alter their normal physiology. These conditions may significantly impact oral and systemic health, affecting the overall quality of life. Over time, numerous therapeutic strategies have been explored to regenerate, repair, or replace injured salivary glands, focusing on those molecular and cellular mechanisms able to be safely translated into a clinical landscape.

Determinants of variations in sleep patterns across Brazil: Exploring geographic influences.

Objective: To examine the influence of latitude, longitude, sunrise, and daylight, in conjunction with individual and behavioral factors, on sleep duration, wake time, and bedtime in a country with the world's broadest latitude range, yet characterized by homogeneity in language, cultural traits, and consistent time zones.

Methods: Participants (n = 1440; 18-65y) were part of a virtual population-based survey (2021-22). Sleep patterns were spatially represented through maps using Multilevel B-spline Interpolation.

Objective: To assess the adherence to the vaccination campaign against SARS-CoV-2 in patients with immunoglobulin-G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) and to evaluate the development of local and systemic adverse events (AEs) following vaccination. Additionally, to investigate the rate and outcome of SARS-CoV-2 infection in IgG4-RD patients.

Methods: Patients with IgG4-RD in follow-up before the onset of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic were contacted by telephone and asked to answer an ad hoc questionnaire regarding their vaccination status against SARS-CoV-2 and related AEs following vaccination.

Periweissella beninensis LMG 25373, belonging to the recently established Periweissella genus, exhibits unique motility and high adhesion capabilities, indicating significant probiotic potential, including resilience under simulated gastrointestinal conditions. This study demonstrates for the first time that P. beninensis LMG 25373^T produces a dextran-type exopolysaccharide (EPS) with a distinctive high degree of branching (approximately 71 % of α-(1 → 6)-linkages and 29 % α-(1 → 3)-linkages).

Introduction: Cervical dystonia (CD) is characterized by involuntary neck muscle spasms that lead to abnormal head movements or postures. It is associated with somatosensory (tactile and proprioceptive) dysfunction. Here we tested whether vibro-tactile stimulation (VTS) of the cervical muscles constitutes a non-invasive form of neuromodulation of the somatosensory system that can provide temporary symptom relief for people with CD.

These molecules can cause significant damage to proteins, DNA, and lipids, leading to various diseases. Cells fight ROS with detoxifying enzymes; however, an imbalance can cause damage leading to ischemic conditions, heart disease progression, and neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's disease.

Background: Earlier studies have documented the risk for sinoatrial node injury and phrenic nerve paralysis as complications following radiofrequency catheter ablation for electrical isolation of the superior vena cava (SVCI).

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the safety and feasibility of SVCI in patients with atrial fibrillation undergoing pulsed field ablation (PFA) METHODS: Six hundred sixteen consecutive patients undergoing PFA for pulmonary vein isolation plus SVCI were included in this multicenter analysis. Superior vena cava (SVC) ablation was performed under the continuous guidance of intracardiac echocardiography.

Background: This observational study investigates the efficacy of combining local muscle vibration (LMV) therapy and kinesiotaping using the McConnell method (KMcCM) in patients with patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS). Background: Supraglottic squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a significant portion of head and neck cancers, with the management of clinically negative necks (cN0) through selective neck dissection (SND) being debated due to potential morbidities and low metastasis rates in levels IIb and IV.

Methods: This study is a retrospective, multicenter examination of the potential feasibility of limited neck dissection (LND), including only levels IIa and III in cN0 supraglottic SCC patients.
