Previous studies demonstrated the prognostic value of baseline cardiac damage staging as well as left ventricular global longitudinal strain (LVGLS) in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the changes in cardiac damage stage and LVGLS after TAVI and to investigate their prognostic values when integrated into the follow-up assessment. Patients with severe aortic stenosis undergoing TAVI were hierarchically classified into cardiac damage stages based on echocardiographic criteria before TAVI and at a 6-month follow-up.

Background And Objective: A meta-analysis of two randomized STAMPEDE platform trials revealed that 3 yr of abiraterone acetate in addition to androgen deprivation therapy and radiation therapy significantly improved metastasis-free and overall survival (OS) in high-risk nonmetastatic prostate cancer (PCa) and should be considered a new standard of care. The aim of our study was to assess long-term cancer-specific survival (CSS) and OS for surgically treated patients with newly diagnosed nonmetastatic node-negative PCa meeting the STAMPEDE criteria for high risk.
Methods: This was a retrospective, multicenter cohort study of patients with European Association of Urology (EAU) high-risk PCa who underwent radical prostatectomy and extended pelvic lymph node dissection.

Heart failure (HF) is a clinical syndrome which is due to cardiac structural and/or functional abnormalities that result in elevated intra-cardiac pressures and/or inadequate cardiac output. Hemodynamic assessment in HF allows the identification and characterization of cardiac dysfunction, systemic and/or pulmonary congestion and the eventual impairment of systemic perfusion which are fundamental to phenotype HF, risk stratify HF patients and to guide their treatment. Patient hemodynamics can be characterized invasively with right heart catheterization but also non-invasively with the use of echocardiography and other non-invasive ultrasound tools.

To date, no reports have indicated laparoscopic lymph node biopsies using Indocyanine green (ICG) in cases of lymphoproliferative disease. Preliminary data of patients undergoing fluorescence-guided laparoscopic lymph node biopsy (FGLLB) using ICG was retrospectively analysed from the multicentre registry FLABILY study. Between June 2022 and February 2024, 50 patients underwent FGLLB.

Introduction: The wearing-off phenomenon is characterized by the recurrence of motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinsonism during a period free from levodopa. It is a pivotal aspect marking the end of the pharmacological "honeymoon" period in Parkinson's disease (PD). A growing body of literature is connecting sex with the likelihood of developing fluctuations.

Background And Aims: We aimed to characterize the epidemiologic and comorbidities profiles of patients with chronic Hepatitis D (CHD) followed in clinical practice in Italy and explored their interferon (IFN) eligibility.
Methods: This was a cross-sectional study of the PITER cohort consisting of consecutive HBsAg-positive patients from 59 centers over the period 2019-2023. Multivariable analysis was performed by logistic regression model.

Peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) are a heterogeneous group of haematological cancers with generally poor clinical outcomes. However, a subset of patients experience durable disease control, and little is known regarding long-term outcomes. The International T-cell Lymphoma Project (ITCLP) is the largest prospectively collected cohort of patients with PTCLs, providing insight into clinical outcomes at academic medical centres globally.

Objective: To compare the outcomes between a modified Retzius-sparing robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (mRS-RARP) technique and conventional robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (Con-RARP) technique for cases with anterior prostate cancer (PCa), especially positive surgical margin (PSM) rates and urinary continence (UC).
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively included 193 mRS-RARP and 473 Con-RARP consecutively performed by a single surgeon for anterior PCa. Perioperative complications, pathology, and continence were compared after propensity score matching using 9 variables.

Background: Functional tricuspid regurgitation (TR) can develop either because of right ventricular (RV) remodeling (ventricular functional TR) and/or right atrial dilation (atrial functional TR).
Objectives: This meta-analysis aimed to investigate the association between right heart remodeling and long-term (>1 year) all-cause mortality in patients with significant TR (at least moderate, ≥2+).
Methods: MEDLINE, ISI Web of Science, and SCOPUS databases were searched.

Cardiovascular conditions in the spectrum of acute coronary syndromes are characterized by sex differences with regard to pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical presentation, invasive and pharmacologic treatment, and outcomes. This review delves into these differences, including specific subsets like myocardial infarction with non-obstructed coronary arteries or Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection, and alternative diagnoses like Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or myocarditis. Moreover, practical considerations are enclosed, on how a sex-specific approach should be integrated in clinical practice: in fact, personal history should focus on female-specific risk factors, and hormonal status and hormonal therapy should be assessed.

Purpose Of Review: To summarize the recent findings on the subject of metastasis-directed therapy (MDT) in the treatment of oligometastatic prostate cancer (omPCa).
Recent Findings: Evidence from two randomized clinical trials (RCTs) and a meta-analysis show favorable toxicity profiles, and the potential to delay androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT) for up to two years in nearly half of patients with metachronous hormone-sensitive omPCa. Another RCT showed promising results of MDT as treatment-escalation method combined with androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSI) in first-line treatment for castration-resistant omPCa.

Background: Surgical resection is still considered the optimal treatment for colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM). Although laparoscopic and robotic surgery demonstrated their reliability especially in referral centers, the comparison between perioperative outcomes of robotic liver resection (RLR) and open (OLR) liver resection are still debated when performed in referral centers for robotic surgery, not dedicated to HPB. Our study aimed to verify the efficacy and safety of perioperative outcomes after RLR and OLR for CRLM in an HUB&Spoke learning program (H&S) between a high volume center for liver surgery and high volume center for robotic surgery.

Background And Objective: Growing evidence supports the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) for upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). However, the implications of residual UTUC at radical nephroureterectomy (RNU) after NAC are not well characterized. Our objective was to compare oncologic outcomes for pathologic risk-matched patients who underwent RNU for UTUC who either received NAC or were chemotherapy-naïve.

Objective: To explore the potential association between the presence of intraductal carcinoma of the prostate (IDC-P) on biopsy and pathologic response of primary tumor to neoadjuvant therapy in patients with high-risk prostate cancer.
Methods: Eighty-five patients with high-risk localized/locally advanced prostate cancer (CaP) who were given 6-month neoadjuvant therapies of androgen deprivation therapy plus docetaxel or abiraterone prior to radical prostatectomy in 2 prospective trials were included in this study. The presence of IDC-P in biopsy pathology was rereviewed by 2 experienced pathologists.
