Background: medical teams continue to face challenges with infections following hip replacement surgery, whether they occur shortly after the procedure or months or years later. Certain medical conditions like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and obesity are risk factors that make patients more susceptible to infections. Traditional intervention methods such as DAIR, one-step, or two-step procedures are being enhanced and refined to ensure quicker and more effective treatment.

(2) Methods: This study investigates the determinants of pediatric burn severity by analyzing the interplay of demographic and environmental factors. Through a retrospective analysis of pediatric burn cases over five years, encompassing patient demographics, burn causative agents, and clinical outcomes, this research aims to identify significant predictors of burn severity.

Introduction: Extra-gastrointestinal stromal tumors (EGISTs) are non-gastrointestinal sarcomas originating from Cajal-like cells. Recent studies show the tumor microenvironment is crucial and highlight the importance of intra-tumoral leukocyte populations in malignancies, which are greatly impacting treatment strategies in EGISTs.
Aim And Objectives: This study aims to characterize intra-tumoral leukocyte populations in EGISTs, correlating proliferative index (ki67) with leukocyte density and examining age-related effects on proliferative activity and immune response.

Introduction: Sepsis and septic shock represent severe pathological states, characterized by the systemic response to infection, which can lead to organ dysfunction and high mortality. Early diagnosis and rapid intervention are crucial for improving survival chances. However, the diagnosis of sepsis is complex due to its nonspecific symptoms and the variability of patient responses to infections.

Given the increasing rate of infections following hip arthroplasty, one of the current options is the application of a biocomposite at the site of the infection. One of the products used is Stimulan, a completely resorbable calcium sulfate, designed to treat acute and chronic infections. This biocomposite has a controlled purity, is easy to mix with liquid, powder, and antibiotics, and can be applied directly to the site of infection, or it can be injected.

New suction endoscopes, ureteral access sheaths (UAS) and catheters aim to improve the efficacy of flexible ureteroscopy and optimize its safety. Suction UAS with non-flexible tips have shown promising results, especially in maintaining low intrarenal pressure, but also in removing small debris and reducing the "snow globe" effect. In addition, suctioning UAS with a flexible tip offers the advantage of being able to be navigated through the pyelocaliceal system to where the laser lithotripsy is performed.

Ureteroscopy (URS) is a commonly used procedure for the management of ureteral stones. While elective URS has been extensively studied, the literature on emergency URS remains limited. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the efficacy and safeness of URS performed in emergency settings and to determine the ideal candidates for this type of intervention.

Double J stents are commonplace tools used in modern urology, serving as a vital aid in the drainage of the upper urinary system. Along with the numerous advantages of these catheters, numerous negative consequences have also been addressed throughout time. Among the most common symptoms associated with ureteral catheters are those associated with LUTS (lower urinary tract symptoms), such as dysuria, urinary urgency, pollakiuria, the feeling of incomplete emptying of the bladder, urinary incontinence, or even urinary tract infections (UTIs).

Background: MTHFR polymorphism has been inconsistently linked to thrombotic events-some studies have shown its contribution to venous thrombosis, arterial thrombosis, and ischemic stroke, whereas others have found no statistically significant correlation between them.
Methods: A descriptive case series study was performed in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of "Marie Sklodowska Curie" Emergency Clinical Hospital for Children in Bucharest, Romania.
Results: All patients had positive results for MTHFR variants; 14 patients were positive for compound heterozygosity, 13 patients for MTHFR C677T (seven of which were homozygous), and 13 patients for MTHFR A1298C (three of which were homozygous).

The aim of our study was to retrospectively evaluate the stone-free rate after the second intervention for every performed procedure (semirigid ureteroscopy, flexible ureteroscopy, semirigid plus flexible ureteroscopy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy). A total of 149 patients, who came to the emergency room of "Saint John" Emergency Clinical Hospital, Bucharest, Romania, with acute renal pathology suggesting the presence of renal and/or ureteral lithiasis confirmed by imagining (x-ray, ultrasonography or computer tomography), were included in this retrospective study, which was conducted between September 2021 and September 2022. All selected patients had an indication of emergency surgical intervention that consisted of a double-J stent mounting.

Recent studies have shown that people who are immunocompromised may inadvertently play a role in spurring the mutations of the virus that create new variants. This is because some immunocompromised individuals remain at risk of getting COVID-19 despite vaccination, experience more severe disease, are susceptible to being chronically infected and remain contagious for longer if they become infected and considering that immunocompromised individuals represent approximately 2% of the overall population, this aspect should be carefully considered. So far, some autoimmune rheumatic disease (ARD) patients with COVID-19 have been treated with antiviral therapies or anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody products.

Early detection of bladder cancer has a positive impact on prognosis. A variety of biomarkers have been developed to detect bladder tumors in urine early and reduce the need for cystoscopy. To detect bladder cancer, several methods are available, but their accuracy varies according to the sensitivity and specificity of each method.

Horseshoe kidney (HSK) is one of the most frequent renal malformations which appears to present an increased risk of stone formation caused by abnormal urine drainage. This study aims to compare the results of single-use flexible ureteroscopy (SUfURS) vs reusable devices (RfURS) with holmium laser in treating stones in HSK cases. Between February 2017 and June 2021, 29 patients diagnosed with renal stone disease and horseshoe kidney were retrospectively analyzed.

Background: Retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) has become the preferred treatment modality for nephrolithiasis. However, because of ongoing uncertainties regarding the optimal perioperative management, operative technique, and postoperative follow-up, as well as a lack of standardization for outcome reporting, consensus is needed to achieve more uniform clinical practice worldwide.
Objective: To develop recommendations for RIRS on the basis of existing data and expert consensus.

Background: Combined hysteroscopy and laparoscopy is a valuable method for diagnosing and treating infertility and benign uterine pathology. Both procedures are minimally invasive, reliable, and safe, with a low complication rate.
Aim: In this review, we expose the efficiency and safety of hysterolaparoscopy in the management of infertility and other benign uterine pathologies.
Purpose: Whole-body bone scintigraphy is the most widely used method for detecting bone metastases in advanced cancer. However, its interpretation depends on the experience of the radiologist. Some automatic interpretation systems have been developed in order to improve diagnostic accuracy.

The purpose of this study is to collect information on the bacterial resistance to antibiotics of bacteria isolated from urine cultures of patients treated for upper urinary tract calculi. Data of patients with urinary tract infection and urolithiasis were retrospectively reviewed to collect information on age, gender, stone size, location, hydronephrosis, procedure of stone removal and antibiotic treatment, identification and susceptibility of pathogens, symptoms, and infectious complications. A total of 912 patients from 11 centers in 7 countries (Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Spain, and Turkey) were studied.
