Introduction: Heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) remains a challenging problem due to its high mortality rate. The PARADIGM HF trial and a new class of drugs - angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitors (ARNIs) - managed to change the current perception of HF treatment by reducing cardiovascular mortality and morbidity as well as HF hospitalizations compared with enalapril and have emerged as an evidence-based therapy for HFrEF. Another novelty in HF therapy is dapagliflozin, a sodium-glucose transporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT2i) which decreased the rates of cardiac death and worsening of HF in the DAPA-HF trial, when added in other guideline recommended therapy.

However, it is not clear whether and how patients' neuropsychological profile changes between the prodromal and the manifest stages of the condition. The aim of the present in-depth review is to consider cognitive and social cognition impairment in HD patients by differentiating deficits arising before diagnosis from those evident from the manifest phase onwards.

We investigated the usefulness and effectiveness of tele-rehabilitation on exercise capacity in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). A randomized study was carried out, including stable patients with IPF for 3 months of tele-rehabilitation: video and chat consultations with a physiotherapist and workout sessions with a virtual physiotherapist agent (VAPA). Moreover, 6-min walk test distance (6MWTD), forced vital capacity (FVC), diffusion capacity for carbon monoxide (DLCO), 7 days pedometry, Saint George Respiratory Questionnaire for interstitial lung disease, The King's Brief Interstitial Lung Disease Questionnaire, and General Anxiety Disorder 7 Questionnaire were tested before and after 3 months of tele-rehabilitation, as well as after 3 and 6 months follow-up.

Vertigo is the leading symptom of vestibular disorders and a major risk factor for falls. In a genome-wide association study of vertigo (N = 48,072, N = 894,541), we uncovered an association with six common sequence variants in individuals of European ancestry, including missense variants in ZNF91, OTOG, OTOGL, and TECTA, and a cis-eQTL for ARMC9. The association of variants in ZNF91, OTOGL, and OTOP1 was driven by an association with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.

Background: Although Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is considered a heterogeneous neurological disease in childhood, a growing body of evidence associates it with mitochondrial dysfunction explaining the observed comorbidities.
Introduction: The aim of this study is to identify variations in cellular bioenergetics and metabolism dependent on mitochondrial function in ASD patients and healthy controls using Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs). We hypothesized that PBMCs may reveal the cellular pathology and provide evidence of bioenergetic and metabolic changes accompanying the disease.

The occurrence of functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs) is a formidable challenge for infants, parents, and healthcare professionals. Although data from the Middle East are scarce, experts consider FGIDs a prevalent condition in everyday clinical practice. The new Rome IV criteria revisited the definitions from a clinical perspective to provide a practical and consistent diagnostic protocol for FGIDs.

Aesthetic medicine has experienced major developments in recent years, which is illustrated by the increasing number of hyaluronic acid injected in the area of facial rejuvenation. Although considered low risk, it can rarely result in arterial embolization with potentially major aesthetic and functional consequences. These vascular complications range from livedo to skin necrosis to permanent blindness.

Diabetes is considered one of the major causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD), affecting renal blood vessels and nerves. Diagnosis of CKD by traditional biochemical serum and blood analyses is insufficient and insensitive, thus requiring the development of a more robust technique. This novel study aims to propose a new method for the accurate diagnosis of CKD, quantification of kidney damage, and its prognosis by physicians by measuring the kidney volume on computed tomography (CT).
