Background And Objective: Laryngeal Cancer (LC) constitutes approximately one third of head and neck cancers. Detecting early-stage lesions in this anatomical region is crucial for achieving a high survival rate. However, it poses significant diagnostic challenges owing to the varied appearance of lesions and the need for precise characterization for appropriate clinical management.

Aims: New technology has been reported as a factor driving people to choose an automatic insulin delivery system (AIDs) and to sustain its acceptance. We aimed to explore the role of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology (instant scanning vs. real-time) and insulin treatment modality to determine the future acceptance of AIDs among T1D individuals.

In serous borderline ovarian tumor (SBOT), a micropapillary (MP) pattern has been considered analogous to intraepithelial low-grade serous carcinoma (LGSC). On this account, it is reasonable to hypothesize that MP-SBOT is more likely to be associated with extraovarian LGSC localizations (also referred to as 'invasive implants') compared to conventional SBOT. The aim of this study was to investigate the potential association between a MP pattern and invasive implants in SBOT.

Purpose: Prostate cancer treatments paradigms are in continuous evolution, especially in the metastatic setting. In this context, the Genito-Urinary Group of Italian Association of Radiotherapy and Clinical Oncology aimed to create a consensus on radiation therapy indication in de novo metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer both on primary tumor and metastatic sites.
Methods: A panel of experts, involved in clinical management of prostate cancer, through the estimate-talk-estimate method, developed a list of items and correspondent statements on the identified topic.

The main goal for treatment of locally advanced thyroid carcinoma invading the laryngotracheal and esophageal complex, is radical surgical excision and reconstruction of a functional aerodigestive tract. We describe a challenging surgical technique in which a wide laryngotracheal and esophageal defect was functionally reconstructed using a single anterolateral thigh flap. This can represent a good option for a tailored functional reconstruction of extended defects of the aerodigestive tract.

Purposes: To evaluate whether mandibular advancement device therapy is recommended in patients affected by obstructive sleep apnea.
Methods: In order to predict oral appliances therapy response, drug induced sleep endoscopy with cardio-respiratory polygraphy and mandibular advancement device simulator was carried out. Patients in which upper airway obstruction was resolved on all levels and AHI was normalized (< 5/h), were referred for oral appliance therapy.

Endometrial carcinoma is a heterogeneous group of malignancies characterized by distinct histopathological features and genetic underpinnings. The 2020 WHO classification has provided a comprehensive framework for the categorization of endometrial carcinoma. However, it has not fully addressed the spectrum of uncommon entities that are currently not recognized by the 2020 WHO and have only been described in the form of small case series and case reports.

Objective: This systematic review evaluates the efficacy and morbidity of transnasal endoscopic nasopharyngectomy as a salvage treatment for advanced-stage recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma (rNPC).
Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic search in Medline, Scopus, and PubMed, identifying studies on transnasal endoscopic nasopharyngectomy for rNPC. Inclusion criteria encompassed histologically confirmed rT3 and rT4 NPC patients previously treated with radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy.

The evaluation of estimated GFR (eGFR) is a pivotal staging step in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and renal ultrasound plays an important role in diagnosis, prognosis and progression of CKD. The interaction between histopathological diagnosis and ultrasound parameters in eGFR determination has not been fully investigated yet. The study examined the results of native kidney biopsies performed in 48 Italian centers between 2012 and 2020.

Purpose: The proximity or overlap of planning target volume (PTV) and organs-at-risk (OARs) poses a major challenge in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) of pancreatic cancer (PACA). This international treatment planning benchmark study investigates whether simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) and simultaneous integrated protection (SIP) concepts in PACA SBRT can lead to improved and harmonized plan quality.
Methods And Materials: A multiparametric specification of desired target doses (gross target volume [GTV], GTV, PTV, and PTV) with 2 prescription doses of GTV = 5 × 9.

Multi-modal therapies for gynecological cancers management may determine a wide range of side effects which depend on therapy-related factors and patient characteristics and comorbidities. Curative or adjuvant pelvic radiotherapy is linked with acute and late toxicity due to irradiation of organs at risk, as small and large bowel, rectum, bladder, pelvic bone, vagina and bone marrow. Successful toxicity management varies with its severity, Radiation Centre practice and experience and skills of radiation oncologists.

In the post-COVID-19 era, telehealth experience and knowledge must be structured to deliver high-quality care. Type 1 diabetes is a chronic disease that lends itself to being a model for telehealth diffusion, especially in the pediatric setting where the use of cloud-connected technologies is widespread. Here, we present "how to set the tone" and manage a telemedicine session according to our experiences and those reported in the literature, according to the health professional perspective.

Background: The reconstruction of individual patient data from published Kaplan-Meier survival curves is a new technique (often denoted as the IPDfromKM method) for studying efficacy in cases where multiple trials are available, and the endpoint is long-term mortality. In patients with tricuspid regurgitation, both valve repair and valve replacement have been proposed to improve prognosis; 6 controlled clinical trials (CTs) have been conducted to compare the two therapeutic options mentioned above. The objective of our analysis was to study these six trials through the application of the IPDfromKM method.

Cardiac amyloidosis is the most frequent infiltrative disease caused by the deposition of misfolded proteins in the cardiac tissue, leading to heart failure, brady- and tachyarrhythmia and death. Conduction disorders, atrial fibrillation (AF) and ventricular arrhythmia (VA) significantly impact patient outcomes and demand recognition. However, several issues remain unresolved regarding early diagnosis and optimal management.

Background: Most premenopausal patients with early breast cancer (eBC) are diagnosed with hormone receptor-positive disease and therefore candidate for adjuvant endocrine therapy (ET).
Patients And Methods: The Gruppo Italiano Mammella (GIM) 23-POSTER (GIM23) is a multicenter, prospective, observational study conducted in 26 Italian institutions, aiming to evaluate ET choices for premenopausal patients affected by hormone receptor-positive eBC in a real-world setting. Here we report also the results in terms of type of ET prescribed according to the definition of high-risk patients by monarchE and NATALEE trials.

There are currently few data about the safety and effectiveness of chemotherapy for patients with metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have progressed from prior immunotherapy. Data from patients with consecutive stage IIIB-IV, ECOG performance status (PS) 0-2, non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) treated with combination or single-agent chemotherapy following progression on an earlier immunotherapy regimen were retrospectively gathered. Recorded were baseline attributes, outcome metrics, and toxicities.
