Pseudo-pseudo Meigs' syndrome (PPMS), also known as Tjalma syndrome, is an exceptionally rare condition marked by pleural effusion, ascites, and elevated CA-125 levels, usually in the context of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) without any associated ovarian tumors. We report the case of a 40-year-old woman who presented with a four-month history of fatigue, nausea, weight loss, abdominal pain, and pleural effusion. Initial diagnostic workup revealed ascites, elevated CA-125 levels, and pleural effusions, with no evidence of malignancy.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study is a systematic review and meta-analysis that evaluates the effectiveness of three combination therapies for treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC): transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) with radiofrequency ablation (RFA), microwave ablation (MWA), and cryoablation (CRA).
  • - Results from 42 studies involving 5,468 patients show that the TACE + MWA combination leads to better long-term survival rates and objective response rates compared to TACE alone, RFA, or CRA.
  • - The analysis indicates that TACE + MWA is particularly effective for patients under 60 years old with smaller tumors (≤3 cm), outperforming the other two therapies in terms

Following the pancreatoduodenectomy the pancreatic anastomosis, which is still "Achilles" heel of pancreatic surgery, carries the highest risk of leak and cause of morbidity and mortality. More than 80 different methods of reconstruction have been proposed, illustrating the complexity of surgical techniques as well as the absence of the "ideal" pancreatic anastomosis and gold standard up to date. Here, we describe the novel method of double invaginated pancreatojejunostomy with transanastomotic stent and external pancreatic duct drainage.
