Women of childbearing age frequently express a desire for pregnancy even after a diagnosis of breast cancer and after undergoing treatment. The average age of primiparous women is rising and gynecologists and oncologists are faced with inquiries about pursuing childbearing after the diagnosis of breast cancer. We present a case of a 39 year old women who came to our clinic in 39th week of gestation, gave vaginal birth to a vigorous neonatus and underwent into dyspnea just two hours after the delivery.

Microsatellite instability (MSI) has been recognized as an important factor in colorectal cancer (CRC). It arises due to deficient mismatch repair (MMR), mostly attributed to MLH1 and MSH2 loss of function leading to a global MMR defect affecting mononucleotide and longer microsatellite loci. Recently, microsatellite instability at tetranucleotide loci, independent of the global MMR defect context, has been suggested to represent a distinct entity with possibly different consequences for tumorigenesis.

Objective: To examine whether variation of regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO) within three days after delivery predicts development of brain injury (intraventricular/cerebellar hemorrhage or white matter injury) in preterm infants.
Study Design: A prospective study of neonates <32 weeks gestational age with normal cranial ultrasound admitted between 2018 and 2022. All received rScO monitoring with near-infrared spectroscopy at admission up to 72 h of life.

Sepsis is defined as a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection. Sepsis-induced myocardial dysfunction represents reversible myocardial dysfunction which ultimately results in left ventricular dilatation or both, with consequent loss of contractility. Studies on septic cardiomyopathy report a wide range of prevalence ranging from 10% to 70%.

The increasing global incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) underscores the urgency of addressing these interconnected health challenges. Obesity enhances genetic and environmental influences on T2D, being not only a primary risk factor but also exacerbating its severity. The complex mechanisms linking obesity and T2D involve adiposity-driven changes in β-cell function, adipose tissue functioning, and multi-organ insulin resistance (IR).

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the cornea's biomechanical properties, corneal hysteresis (CH), and corneal resistance factor (CRF) on postoperative astigmatism after cataract surgery and determine the other factors that influence it. Forty eyes of 40 patients (13M/27F; the median age of 74) were included in this prospective study, underwent 2.75 mm incision cataract surgery, and were followed for 30 days.

Heart failure (HF) with mid-range or mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF) is a separate clinical entity in the HF spectrum, with a left ventricular ejection fraction ranging from 40 to 49%. While sodium glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors have become the cornerstone therapy for the entire HF spectrum, there are a few clinical trials of HFmrEF. This prospective observational study was conducted at Dubrava University Hospital, Zagreb, Croatia, from May 2021 to October 2023.

During a routine ultrasound examination of the abdomen, a 60-year-old male patient was diagnosed with mass in the tail of the pancreas. However, computed tomography (CT) suggested that the lesion was an intrapancreatic accessory spleen (IPAS). IPAS is a congenital anomaly, which usually does not present with symptoms.

Vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation (VGAM) is a rare vascular anomaly originating during embryonic development, specifically between the 6th and 11th weeks of gestation. This malformation results from abnormal arteriovenous connections between primitive choroidal arteries and the median prosencephalic vein (MPV) of Markowski. Typically, the MPV regresses by the 11th week, but in VGAM, this regression is hindered, leading to persistent abnormal flow and the formation of arteriovenous shunts.

Introduction: In children, congenital heart defects represent the primary cause of increased serum troponin I. The elimination process of cardiac troponin I from the bloodstream and the factors influencing this process remain unknown. The objective of this study was to explore the role of troponin I as an indicator of cardiac damage in children both in serum and urine, a concept previously investigated in adults.

The increase in cancer survival rates has put a focus on ensuring fertility preservation procedures for cancer patients. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation presents the only option for prepubertal girls and patients who require immediate start of treatment and, therefore, cannot undergo controlled ovarian stimulation. We aimed to provide an assessment of stem cells' impact on cryopreserved ovarian tissue grafts in regard to the expression of growth factors, angiogenesis promotion, tissue oxygenation, ovarian follicle survival and restoration of endocrine function.

Background: Advanced Life Support (ALS) during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is frequently administered by two-member crews. However, ALS CPR is mostly designed for larger crews, and the feasibility and efficacy of implementing ALS guidelines for only two rescuers remain unclear.
Objective: This scoping review aims to examine the existing evidence and identify knowledge gaps in the efficiency of pre-hospital ALS CPR performed by two-member teams.

Introduction: Anterior knee pain commonly affects young women resulting in the declination of the quality of life. One of the possible pathologies causing this symptom is chondromalacia patellae (CMP). Although CMP is used to describe the softening of patellar articular cartilage, it remains a general descriptive term as it cannot be associated with a specific pathophysiologic mechanism.

Porto-sinusoidal vascular disease (PSVD) is defined as a vascular liver disease characterized by the absence of cirrhosis and the presence of characteristic histological features, with or without the presence of portal hypertension (PH). Half of the patients with PSVD also have associated disease that may contribute to the development of PSVD. Patients usually remain asymptomatic until complications of PH arise.

Pseudokidney sign (PKS) is a characteristic sonographic finding of an abnormal mass with a reniform appearance, and a hyperechoic central region surrounded by a hypoechoic area. It has been seldom documented in gastric cancer. A 75-year-old male patient presented with a palpable abdominal resistance in the left upper abdominal quadrant and ultrasound evaluation revealed a well-vascularized mass presenting with PKS.
