Objective: Provoked vulvodynia (PV), characterized by vulvar pain upon touch or pressure, is the leading cause of pain during sexual intercourse. It causes a significant decline in overall quality of life, including sexual dysfunction and mental distress. Surgical interventions, such as perineoplasty and vestibulectomy, are considered a last resort for PV cases unresponsive to less invasive therapies.

The WHO's initiative to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030 does not address the increasing incidence of vulvar, anal, and oropharyngeal cancers linked to high-risk HPV. Currently, the prevention of these three cancers faces various obstacles, such as a lack of specialized screening programs, well-defined management guidelines, and widespread public awareness. Without any interventions, the incidence of these three cancers will likely rise in the upcoming years, increasingly affecting younger individuals.

Background: As diagnostic and prognostic models developed by traditional statistics perform poorly in real-world, artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data (BD) may improve the supply chain of heart transplantation (HTx), allocation opportunities, correct treatments, and finally optimize HTx outcome. We explored available studies, and discussed opportunities and limits of medical application of AI to the field of HTx.
Method: A systematic overview of studies published up to December 31st, 2022, in English on peer-revied journals, have been identified through PUBMED-MEDLINE-WEB of Science, referring to HTx, AI, BD.

Background: Anticancer treatments are improving the prognosis of patients fighting cancer. However, anticancer treatments may also increase the cardiovascular (CV) risk by increasing metabolic disorders. Atherosclerosis and atherothrombosis related to anticancer treatments may lead to ischemic heart disease (IHD), while direct cardiac toxicity may induce non-ischemic heart disease.

Background: Cancer outcome is considered to result from the interplay of several factors, among which host inflammatory and immune status are deemed to play a significant role. The neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) have been profitably used as surrogate markers of host immunoinflammatory status and have also been shown to correlate with outcome in several human tumors. However, only a few studies on these biomarkers have been performed in gastric cancer patients, yielding conflicting results.
